Engineering Mathematics B
Power series and Frobenius series solutions of differential equations; Legendre's equation; Bessel's equation; Fourier series and Fourier transforms; Sturm-Liouville theory; solutions of partial differential equations; wave and heat equations. Prerequisites: Math 233 and Math 217 or their equivalents.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL. EnMath B has the potential to be a really difficult course, but under Hastings, it's incredibly manageable. Go to lecture, inform her of any absences, go to her office hours for help-Hastings' EnMath B is incredibly fair, and will return to you EXACTLY what you put into it. It's not easy, but she makes it approachable.

Dr. Hasting is a kind person, and she seems to genuinely care about her students. But this class is way too hard. The homework is okay, and it's easy to get help on, but then the test is insane. This class is a prerequisite for a lot of other engineering classes, but I didn't find that it actually gave me any knowledge I would need.

Mr. B is the goat. Always funny and makes lectures engaging. Grading is super fair, HW is based on completion, and there are no exams (quizzes and final project only). You can get up to half of the points you lost on quizzes back; he genuinely wants students to succeed. He also hosted a "bake-off" at the end of the semester which was super fun.

Good professor. Very difficult exams. Homeworks, if you follow along with your notes (she does fill in the blank notes), are easy. Requires everyone to ask a question or answer a question once during class during the semester. Super helpful office hours. My biggest regret is not following the notes during class, they were very helpful.

Mr B is probably one of the best professors at WashU. He made Enmath B (ESE 319) very interesting, and he'll do everything he can to make sure you understand the topics. His grading and expectations are very reasonable/attainable, and he genuinely wants you to succeed

Brennan is an all-around great teacher. Brennan's lectures were engaging, interesting, and useful. He's very funny, makes the lectures entertaining, and I genuinely looked forward to attending his class every week. Assessments and grading were very reasonable and fair as there were lots of opportunities to gain back points. 11/10 would take again.

The way Mr. Brennan has this class set up is awesome! You have the ability to learn a lot and be challenged, without it stressing you out like other classes! The environment of this class is really great. Also, Mr. Brennan is very clear on expectations and very accessible outside of class. He's a professor that actually cares about his students!!!!

She is a great person, but a terrible lecturer. If you purely love math you would like her course, but if you like to have real life understanding about your material, she has no idea what she is teaching about.

Taught EnMath B for the first time last semester. The lectures were pretty clear if a bit boring but the tests were pretty straight-forward. Weekly quizzes force you to attend at least once a week but they are usually pretty simple. Tests were fairly similar to homework but still took some thought. Dr. Brown was great 1-on-1 in office hours!

A pretty easy professor. He has a thick accent that you will need to get used to in the first few weeks. Office hours are usually very available but not always helpful. He is not the clearest instructor, but his lecture notes definitely help. If you show up to class and do the homework, you will get at least a B. Somewhat nice guy.

Professor is a nice guy, actually pretty adorable. He gives printed lecture notes before class, and doesn't take attendance. HOWEVER, his lectures are incredibly confusing. His accent is a bit difficult and he often confuses himself in lecture and does examples wrong. He also barely does any examples in class. He grades VERY easily though.

Very nice person. Lectures are not very clear, had to use book. But if you go to office hours he will explain things well. Exams were graded generously.

One of the best teachers I had in 4 years at WUSTL. Knows the material, knows how to teach, and knows her students. Lectures very organized and "tie together" well. Super accessible for office hours/help. Tests can be tricky but fair. I would take class with her again over a better grade with another prof just based on how much I learned

There is no doubt that she truly cares about her students; by the end of the semester she had memorized everyone's names. She works to make sure that you understand the material. She's always willing to take questions and while many found her tests difficult, they are not impossible. Honestly one of the best math teachers at wustl.

If you take Hasting you will probably learn a lot of material, but her tests are IMPOSSIBLE. You have to know every minute detail in order to do well. Take Hoven for the A, its better for your gpa in the long run.

Professor Hasting truly cares about her students and values their experience at WashU. Her tests are difficult, but she wants her students understand the material. I had her last semester, and she made my semester. I would be willing to take a class with her and get a B over getting an A with another professor, merely because of her teaching.
