I disagree with all past reviews. Jason was constantly sexist. Not intentionally, but it was uncomfortable. He doesn't do his own job and is proud. I'm concerned this man is such a big deal in the research he does. He thinks AI is the best and uses it to make his exams and slides. Exams are TRICKY--must memorize exactly what is on the AI slides.

JASON IS AWESOME!! A very engaging, funny professor who makes the content so interesting and comes to class with the perfect level of energy and optimism. One of the only classes I've been actually excited to go to in the morning. Exams are not the easiest, but are very fair and not worth much of your grade. Absolutely take this class!!

She was nice but very scatterbrained and unorganized. This resulted in the attendance of the class being drastically lower later in the semester than earlier in the semester. She did not remember whole lectures she taught and would go back and reteach the same slides—until the TA or a student stopped her.

2-4 hrs/week

Hassenstab was alright. Clearly new to teaching undergrads and a bit disorganized. Tests can be somewhat difficult, but I can recommend this class.

Highly recommend this class! You'll learn interesting topics from a professor who is genuinely passionate about what he does. He's truly interested in each individual student, and his humor makes lectures entertaining and fun. Sometimes test questions were confusing even though I studied, but they make up only 30% of the grade so I still got an A.

Interesting and low workload. Caring professor that wants you to do well. 2 exams (15% each, study 3-5 hours max). Take some notes in class or just study off the slides and you'll do fine. 1 creative assignment (10%, takes 4-5 hours). 1 eight page final paper, but with relaxed guidelines. Maybe 20 hours outside of class the whole semester.

BY FAR my favorite professor and class so far at WashU. His lectures are fascinating and clear. He is very caring and understanding with his students and creates a vibe in the class that is so positive and supportive. Class is easy to do well in if you study a bit. 10/10. I genuinely enjoyed attending class. Take him, and you'll thank me later.

Professor Hale is a very nice person but she always seems to be unprepared when giving lectures. I took this class online and asynchronously and she would also post the video lectures a few days late. It also seems like she doesn't use her own slides because she spends a good amount of time trying to figure out what is going on in the slides.
