Introduction to Quantum Computing

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

This course introduces students to quantum computing, which leverages the effects of quantum-mechanical phenomena to solve problems. The course begins with material from physics that demonstrates the presence of quantum effects. Mathematical abstractions of quantum gates are studied with the goal of developing the skill to reason about existing quantum circuits and to develop new quantum circuits as required to solve problems. Students will develop a quantum-computer simulator and make use of open simulators as well as actual devices that can realize quantum circuits on the Internet. Note, attendance and participation are required to pass the course.

same as other review. The reason why he has gotten such good reviews is because people know him as a celebrity from a surface-level conversations with him He would pretend to be warm-hearted but a little hypocritical and he was often mean to others when we communicate deeply

2 or less hrs/week

Ron Cytron really cares about your learning and is very clear that he wants you to learn and not struggle too much by giving absurd amounts of work. The class isn't very hard and quite intresting

Cytron is one of the best professors in WashU's CS department. He gives major dad vibes and is a very nice and chill person. His lectures can get confusing sometimes but attendance isn't mandatory and he offers a lot of extra credit to make up for that. His slides are also very comprehensive. This class is easy A if you do the work.
