I learned so much from her class. Her lectures are so insightful on the text we read but she can carry them out with the nicest mix of humor. Her comments on your essays are great but her gradings are not harsh. She likes to chat with you and know about you beyond the classroom. Dr. Ake is my favorite professor and she makes my semester worthwhile

Professor Myers is a genuinely kind human and an equally wonderful professor. She is incredibly receptive to feedback on course structure and accommodating of student schedules. She provides ample feedback on essays and provides multiple opportunities for students to use feedback to improve their writing. Take her class if you can!

Prof. Myers is one of the best professors I've had at this university. She is incredible with students and receptive to all feedback. The structure of our class changed often based on our feedback because she was so willing to accommodate us. Her course is interesting and easy to engage with, with a great mix of assignment types. She's wonderful.

Fantastic lecturer and difficult grader. Sometimes difficult to talk with him outside of class, but he does seem to care about his students.

Ake was the best professor I have had yet at WashU. She made Shakespeare so incredibly fun (which honestly is hard). She encourages your opinions and discussion, but led most lectures. Always down to laugh, always happy, really helpful and understanding. Wants all her students to succeed which is amazing

He's awesome! He's fiercely intelligent, vastly knowledgeable about the period, and incredibly enthusiastic. He tends to give about 2/3 of a letter grade less than I'm used to on papers, but with good reason. He seems to genuinely care about making students understand Shakespeare and improve as readers and as paper-writers. And he's entertaining!

Loewenstein challenges everyone he encounters. It can be frustrating at times to answer only to find that yes, your answer is valid, but not what he was looking for. Still, he is brilliant and he does care (he's very lax with deadlines and revisions). His class is extremely difficult, but you will see Shakespeare from entirely new angles.
