Geometry/Topology I: Algebraic Topology

MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

An introductory graduate-level course in algebraic topology, including fundamental groups, covering spaces, homology, and cohomology. Prerequisites: undergraduate courses in abstract algebra and point-set topology or permission from the instructor. Replaces 5043.

Professor Tang is a very personable guy who is clearly knowledgable about the subject area. The class feels like a community, and he encourages this. The content material for the midterm was unclear to some, but that wasn't a huge deal. Would recommend.
