If you don't answer at least 2 questions a class, you will fail. Let's guess if there are 50 students in the class, each question takes 2 minutes to answer, if all students participate, he doesn't need to lecture at all! What an easy way to teach! He gives the worst exam and expect you to know everything, even things he never taught before.

Enjoyed going to classes. The assignments are tough mainly because they're usually based on real life data, making things not clear; the professor asks students to make assumptions and move on if stuck. But if you do go through all these, you will learn a lot. Go to classes and ask questions. It is where the professor actually gives you information

Extremely knowledge/intelligent. Puts a lot of work into preparing lectures and the class in general. The weekly problem sets are hard and will probably take a long time. Learned so much finance it's ridiculous. Teaches interesting and useful topics like Monte Carlo Simulation. Can't say enough praise.

Professor Manela isn't easy, but he's very upfront with his expectations. Very approachable for help. Surprisingly funny at times. Not an easy class, but doable. Come prepared and he'll get you where you need to go.
