My opinion of Prof. Majors has completely changed after taking Euk. Genomes with him (a much smaller class). He is much more outgoing, knows (and seems to love) the material much better, and is very straightforward when answering questions. Don't let your experience in 2960 deter you from taking another one of his courses.

It is very clear that Majors is a genius. That being said, being a genius does not make you good at teaching. He reads off slides that are way too overcrowded with words and presents a lot of material in one sitting and in an unorganized way. He given off the vibe that he does not like teaching. That being said, he is super nice and tries hard

Incredibly smart guy. Too smart. Expects you to know things after he mumbles and stutters through 80 slides in one lecture. incredibly dull. Only take if necessary

Sure his lectures are dull and he stutters through them but he is a nice guy and is not out to get you! If you are interested in something and ask him a question, he will give a respectful answer and seem to care (unlike Hafer). His exam questions are more fair, he asks for the general concept not small details.

Majors is not clear in class. He basically circles the whole slide with the laser pointer and is barely understandable. Lectures were useless and just learned from problem sets. Tests are easier than first half though.

Dr. Majors is very unclear and confusing in class. It's very hard to follow him in lecture. I can't capture the important points in the slides because he talks too generally. His laser pointer use is just terrible. He basically circles the entire slide.

He doesn't emphasize what is important so there is a great volume of info you're expected to know and apply..Very dull lecturer, nice guy but I hate this class

Really nice guy. Manageable class, but pretty boring. Make sure you leave enough time to study for the tests - they're definitely fair, but you've got to do your work.

He deserves much more credit than he's getting here. I thought he was a nice guy who really wanted us to do well, unlike Prof. Ho who really didn't care. He made himself available for help, and was not condescending when questions were asked (also unlike Ho). Tests were doable with lots of preparation. UNDERSTAND (don't just memorize) problem sets.

He is very boring and often has 5 in a row paragraph text slides that he just reads off. If i wanted someone to dictate their notes to me I would have went to fontbonne. Test questions are sometimes very vague and if you use the textbook's words instead of his you wont get much partial credit.

He's a terrible teacher, he stutters nonstop, does not specify what is important and is very boring to listen to

Pretty disorganized and goes too quickly through concepts during lecture, though he seems to be a nice guy.
