Prof. CCD is supportive and responsive to feedback, but not an effective lecturer. Her disorganized lectures make it easy to lose track of the material. The homework is excessively long. They help learn the content, but it is very painful to do. Don't take her class if you're expecting light work and easy grades.

Genuinely the worst professor I have had in Olin. Her class is 95% lecture, most are useless because she only goes over the easiest problems to explain topics. While exams are much harder. Psets are minimum 17 pgs that graded on accuracy. Asked for an extension on a pset because of competing deadlines 4 days in advance & she told me to drop pset.

Class is alright but problem sets are absolutely awful, like genuinely the most disgusting HW I've seen at WashU. Often 20+ pages long. She'll have parts a - i for a question, and then parts i - iv for each letter. This ends up with one question having 30+ different parts, and each problem set usually has around 5 questions.

Not the worst, but wouldn't do it again. Generated email responses using ChatGPT (100% AI detection on GPTzero). Exams are hard and grading inconsistent. Problem sets are absolutely heinous and longer than every other professor who teaches mec. Gives quizzes but doesn't mention that or their weight in the syallbus. I would opt for Gray.

While CDC definitely gets criticism for the way she teaches (cold calling for attendance, a lot of quizzes, lengthy problem sets and HARD open note exams), she is super caring when reaching out and I found it very useful to meet with her one on one to review some concepts. Mec290 is definitely no joke so you gotta be focused for the most part.

wow. what an awful experience. mandatory cold calling. she randomly picks a few names every class to pick on. some names get called on more than others. super hard to understand lectures. review sessions unhelpful. office hours unhelpful. open note exams (hardly helps) doesn't know how to lecture without a prepared packet with all the answers.

She is so caring, smart, and passionate. Yes, the class is really hard, but she will do everything to help her students; she cares and is very reasonable. If you go to TA office hours, you will get problem-set answers, but MAKE SURE to go to her office hours and stay for the whole time. She will teach you lots, and that time is very valuable.

AVOID. Makes class unnecessarily challanging, misleads students as to what will be on the exam, and makes her section way harder then the other teachers. Has to curve exams so much because students are so unprepared and generally perform so poorly... the average on her exams is usually around a 50%.

Professor Diaz-Campo does have more difficult tests, but she curves each test so that the average is an 85. Her lectures are thorough and easy to understand. Problem sets tend to be longer than necessary, but the office hours provided by the TAs and/or herself make them extremely doable. Show up, study, and you'll be fine.

Her lectures aren't bad and she's a nice person - plus the curve is best in her class - but she does move really fast, gives out pop quizzes, problem sets are long, and tests are pretty hard and may include content not covered in class. I would recommend trying to take MEC290 with a different professor if possible

Professor Diaz-Campo is a diligent and caring professor; she is always open to answering questions. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she will give pop quizzes. If you can't come just email, she is very understanding. MEC will always be a hard course but as long as you come to class and study well you'll do fine, don't be fooled by the salty reviews.

Worst professor in the B school. Lectures are terrible, she makes no sense in class, and the test are nothing like any homework or class or practice test. You can't do good in this class. Don't take her. Take it in the fall just to have another teacher.

I sent an email to her inquiring about my final grade and found out that I had earned an A. I had been striving for an A since my grade was very near the cutoff point. My performance met the challenging standards set by the professor. The professor believed that I had the potential to excel in business. Do not take her class!!!!!

MEC 290 is a rigorous and very fast paced class. Although her exams were ridiculously difficult, Professor Diaz-Campo is very accessible outside of class and is willing to work with you to improve your grade. Make sure you participate in class and attend those office hours to be clear on exam contents. Also take the Problem sets seriously!!

Yes, her exams are fast-paced, but that doesn't mean she doesn't teach. In my opinion, her teaching was not bad. And if you find that you aren't getting much from the lectures, they're recorded for later reference. Her office hours are super helpful, too, and she's communicative via email. Overall a good, kind professor.

If you can keep up with her fast-paced lectures and somehow manage to teach yourself the concepts that are on the exam (that she barely covers), you will do great in this class. If not, you will still do okay. She's a somewhat friendly professor and will be generous about exam content if you attend her office hours. Overall, not a bad professor!

Very boring and average teacher. She knows her stuff well but lectures aren't very engaging. The first test was very hard but second much easier. It's her first year so I'm sure she'll adapt the tests to be more fair. Never calls on people. Just a boring class
