Durai was very nice and loved to talk to him, but the lectures were slow and dragged. The class is pretty boring to begin with. The class was known to be super easy in previous years. Two tests, 1st one was extremely easy, 2nd one was impossible, ruining everyone's grades. Was told they increased the difficulty bc they realized it was too easy.

Professor Sundaramoorthi is by far one of the most caring and kind professors at WashU. He is always willing to help students if they ask for it, and he is a hilarious person. Every exam (including the final exam) is extremely similar to the past exams. As long as you actually practice the exams, you will be more than ok in the course.

Durai is one of the best professors I've had at WashU. In a statistics class, it's easy for a professor to just teach the problems, but he takes time to explain the concepts behind them engagingly. He is also always willing to chat to discuss position in the class, and makes strong efforts to be equitable across students. Super caring, 10/10.

Strong lecturer, even though he could be somewhat difficult to understand from time to time. Always made the content entertaining and was easy to talk to.

Super great professor, he gives dad energy in the best way and is intentionally and unintentionally funny. Exams are usually the same as past practice exams, the questions are often repeated. Lectures are easy to follow and the homework assignments are pretty easy as well. Has occasional pop quizzes that are mostly for attendance purposes.

Lectures were slightly repetitive but clear. Exams are identical to practice exams and homework. Super nice guy who wants his students to succeed. Gives out pop quizzes but usually gives answers for students who are present. If you took AP Stats or just do the homework, you should not have much trouble.

His exams are not hard, but his lectures are long. I took AP Stats and this class is way easier, but his explanations are confusing.

Great Professor! He supported a lot in understanding basic concepts and replied to questions really fast. He also provided me with lots of supportive career advice which really helped shape my future career. Sad to see he got hate reviews because of students who just didn't want to learn and expected good grades.

1.He clearly says that while he teaches both Machine Learning concepts and R practice, only concepts are included in exams. 2.The course can be challenging for those study at the last moment. My way to get an A is by answering Qs in the course to ensure I don't misunderstand the concept, and he always provide great feedback even if I was wrong.

The video posted basically taught nothing and is hard to understand, and lab session in person also taught nothing. What only matters is the attendance. The most ridiculous part is that the closed-book final exam counts for 50% and coding is not on the test, only conceptual and calculations were in the exam. No curve on the exam. Avoid his lessons!

Final exam weights 50% of your total grade, he taught coding during class and the exam tests your conceptual knowledge and calculation. Those lecture videos he posted each module has nothing to do with the exam. I would rate less than 1 if I can!!

What a gem. Professor Durai brings in real world problems. He focuses on breadth rather than depth, and you learn R coding rather well. The expectations are clearly laid out from day one and you can watch the lectures at your own pace. The final project is challenging but is one of my main talking points in data science interviews. Good TA support.

Professor Durai is an excellent teacher I have seen in WashU. He is patient enough to answer all of your questions. The structure of content in his lecture is really clear,making it easy for me to review whenever I forget something. Therefore, I highly recommend this professor and this course.

Durai's notes are very easy to follow. His tests essentially mirror the previous tests that he posts on Blackboard.

Notes are clear but material is boring. For quizzes/tests you can no longer use cheat sheets. He reproduced past exams and quizzes for future ones and expects memorization. Just talks at students for 1.5 hour lectures and overall disappointed. I don't look forward to his class. 25/46 students usually go.

Great professor, very clear lectures and small amount of homework is easy and prepares you well for the tests. Additionally, he uploads all his past exams which are essentially the same as new exams so tests are easy if you study these. You don't have to go to class - he uploads videos online but there are pop quizzes based on attendance basically.

Durai hooks you up. Gives you videos of him doing lectures and how to do stuff in excel. He also explains things clearly and actually cares if you know the stuff.

Durai is a truly amazing professor. You can tell he puts a lot of time into creating helpful notes, loves the material and is very clear in explaining it. Also extremely available outside of the classroom! However, beware on falling behind. The class is very easy if you do a little bit every week, but I feel some students got overconfident

Great professor! He tests directly from the notes and is very clear on what he wants. He is very helpful and nice!

NOT open book nor open note. Dr. Durai has a generous cheat sheet policy though. Great organized notes, very easy to follow. So smart, and a great teacher! He gets a lot of test/quiz questions from the book. Really concerned about students and their feedback.

Extremely dull and boring. However, if you put in the effort in, then it is a very easy class. To be fair, Durai does care about the students and loves to hear feedback.

Dr. Durai does a great job of teaching this intro stats course. His notes are very clear and he really tests from the notes. Never used the book at all.

This class is very easy since all the exams are open note and open book. His notes are summaries of the chapters in the book and are extremely helpful. I am keeping them to use for my other stats classes. Durai is also very easy to reach and forgiving about late homework. Take this class!

The notes are given to us with blank spots to fill in during lecture. The homework is a sort of WebWork format. The exams are open note, open book, and open computer. In short, this the easiest class I've taken in the business school. Take it before he gets more difficult!
