The content of the class is repetitive. Annoying pop quizzes. You do get 3 cheat sheets on midterm/final.

I personally had a good relationship with Professor Snir, but I also made an effort to build one. He definitely seems to have favorites, so I can understand why some students had tougher experiences. The exams are challenging too. Still, if you attend class, pay attention, and pick a solid group for the final project, you should be fine overall.

This class is really repetitive and cummulative material on every exam/quiz. Lots of group projects, good professor but boring. Random pop quizzes every week for attendance, great B school curve at the end of semester. Snir is flexible but is strict with some things. TA's grade almost everything. Exams were kinda hard but you get 3 cheat sheets.

I had a decent experience with Snir, but I understand how others could have terrible ones. He gets a lot nicer if you get to know him and if you express interest in being a TA. His exams are difficult, especially the final. We had pop quizzes for attendance which was annoying, but participation is small. Good luck. He is what you make of him.

Least favorite class I've taken at Olin. Lectures are boring and we learn outdated statistical methods. Most of the class material and project work is in Excel, but the tests are on completely different topics and done on paper. He's not an easy person to get along with and doesn't seem interested in helping students. Wouldn't recommend.

Least favorite professor of all time. Clearly did not like certain students in class. Lowered my grade from an A to B+ just because the believed that I didn't do enough work on the final project even though I helped my group a lot. Wrote him an email asking about it and did not want to discuss anything. Would not recommend getting on his bad side.

Snir is a great teacher. Sometimes, the lectures can be a bit boring, but that's more on the material than the professor. If you can pay attention in class and do the homework on time, then you should succeed in this class.

The final is unexpectedly nasty and stats is tuaght in an old fashioned way, students have to handwrite proofs and many statistical figures. We are not taught efficient or modern stats technologies. TAs CARRIED this class for me, thanks guys! Prof Snir made me uncomfortable when I asked questions because he does not like talking with students.

Snir does a great job organizing his class and gives plenty of practice tests before exams. However, his tests are graded quite harshly and are a large portion of our grade. Snir can come off caring one moment and condescending the next, and I never felt comfortable asking for help. Lectures were also quite dull and lack engagement.

I really enjoyed the class. Lectures cover all the material you need to know for the group projects, quizzes, and exams. As long as you understand the content well, I think the exams were very fair. He also gives a bunch of practice quizzes and exams which are super helpful if you actually do them.

The midterm and quizzes were fair but the final was cruel. I studied a lot and failed the exam (literally), but since I did well on the midterm and other stuff, I walked away with a B. Expectations for the final were unclear. His lectures are boring, but informative. Seems like a chill guy. Exams are graded harshly, so pay attention in class!

He honestly has taught me so much and prepared me so well for statistics. His class is running really well and he makes it VERY easy to be prepared for tests just do all his practice exams. His pop quizzes are really easy and honestly just for attendance. He is a nice guy and I learned a lot from him, lectures can be dry.

Snir is boring but nice. Office hours are helpful but only depending on the TA. Definitely take notes and ask Snir as many questions if you are confused because he will actually at least try to teach you.

First 3 homeworks took a lot of time and so did the final project. Midterm is easy if you study past exams. The final sucked. He gate kept the grades which was unfair to see at the end of the semester

He's a good lecturer, offers guided notes, hw has unlimited attempts, and theres plenty of TA OH. Quizzes & midterms resemble past ones (he provides many past examples). The final is tough though, so stay focused and dedicate some time to studying. Overall the class is fair and expectations are pretty clear, you more or less get what you put in.

Snir is a really good lecturer and professor, but he is not a good person. He is very condescending when answering questions and makes it uncomfortable for students to ask. That said, he teaches content really well (just not a great person).

Snir is a decent lecturer and fair grader, he makes sure all grading criteria are known well ahead of time for assessments... he is pretty boring but mainly because of the material. This class is hard not because of the statistical material but because you must do the procedure correctly, label everything, put stats in context to get full credit.

Dr. Snir is such a caring professor. I love his lectures; he does the problems with you in class on the board. I really like how his tests, and classes are set up. His homework is a little hard. Make sure to have a study group for the homework or get a tutor. Overall, it was an enjoyable class.

Dr. Snir is a kind professor. His lectures always use real world application and the project is quite fun. It is an easy course due to the fact that every test and quiz comes with numerous practice exams. If you can commit the time to do these, you can easily obtain a high A in the course. Regrades during my semester boosted grades too.

He is easily the least compassionate person who is so absolved in themself that it is amazing that the school allows this man to keep teaching this class aside to stroke his own ego. This man is a testament to the tenure system and its flaws, It is the WORST and LEAST INTERESTING CLASS IN BUSINESS SCHOOL BY FAR.

I found this class to be a bit challenging- the homework takes a bit of time and the tests included processes we don't cover in class. Class is focused on the Excel processes; meanwhile, the tests are handwritten problems- just practice the past exams to get used to it. He is super nice and cares about his students. Great guy.

Great guy and pretty good professor. Interacting with him is often very easy as he's quite nice and rather enjoyable to talk to, but the lectures can definitely get boring quickly. You do have a term paper, a poster (based off of the term paper), and a final exam all due/held within 1-2 weeks of each other, so this class's workload is pretty high.

Professor Snir is a great professor and he cares about his students a lot. He holds plenty of office hours and are more than willing to answer students' questions. He instilled a new policy where you can earn up to 50% of the points missed on exams and quizzes.

Snir is a great professor; his lectures are straightforward and organized and he sets clear expectations for the class at the beginning of the semester. DAT121 can be a bit boring in terms of content at times, but Snir always incorporates examples that makes things easy to understand. Definitely cares about his students success!

Professor Snir is great. While the lectures can be boring (its Managerial Stats what can he do) he is really straight forward about what we need to know and is eager to help if we had any questions. The grade is focused mostly in the Final and the Midterm, but you get 6 cheat sheets, so like just study and put in the time.

Probably the least helpful professor I've had at WashU. Always tried to get help from him outside of class but he never was willing. His lectures are dry and uninteresting. I know it's statistics, but you can at least try to gather student attention.

The pop quizzes are really easy and more for attendence. They're also open book and literally have direct answer choices usually based on the notes that, again, HE prints and gives.

ENOUGH with the Snir slander. Snir is a great professor!! He prints out all the notes for students in advance, and makes complex topics easy to understand. The course is very well organized. Classes went at a good pace and I always felt engaged. He does a really good job explaining the core concepts, and is super helpful outside of class!!

This class is fine if you do the homework and show up to class. Just know this man is an absolute snoozefest and his tests are way too hard. He curves the class and he is genuinely pretty understanding, just super boring. But, he was the only DAT121 professor so I guess if you don't have a choice, you will get through it.

You get in what you put out in Snir's class. Lectures are a bit slow, but if you sit through them, take notes, and put in the effort you'll do well. Unfortunately, I did none of those things. Great teacher all around though.

Snir is a nice person and makes the content easy to follow. Yes, they may not be the most exciting lectures in the world, but we're learning stats -- give him a break. If you follow the lectures or literally just read the lecture notes, you should generally be fine for the quizzes and exams.

Eli Snir is prob the best professor I've had at WashU. he rewards good grades for those who have paid attention and come prepared to class no matter the exam grade that they get. Plus his exams are great because they are well structured and never deviate from the structure and difficulty of past exams. Awesome prof and even better person.

The final exam was just bizarre and unnecessarily obscure and hard. The grading in this class is just so inconsistent with no leniency. The professor was also just unhelpful most of the time.

This man has no business teaching undergraduates. I feel like a lot of topics he just covers as if we already learned them--it feels like he doesn't understand that him knowing the concepts doesn't mean everyone knows them. Lectures are pretty bland and often difficult to follow. He's a nice guy, but please stay away if you can.

He is human before he is a professor, something a lot of professors lack. He may seem intimidating at first but he's very accommodating and makes an effort to help you.

I had Snir the previous year for a non-business class, and took him again for DAT121. His lectures are kind of boring but he a nice person in general. Very accommodating regarding tests and interviews and is willing to work with you if you bring up concerns. For homework I would stick to the TAs as he is very busy. Exams are average difficultly.

His class is alright, it can get a little bit dry at times in lecture. There's a lot of homework, most of them aren't very hard but there a couple that are really hard. TA help sessions were really helpful for me to get through them. The exams are worth a lot of your grade, but there's a final project that can be helpful to improve your grade.

The professor seems bothered when you seek help outside of class. The lectures are boring, but you have to know absolutely everything that is covered- so going to class feels draining. You are required to use SPSS software for the final project, but the whole class is conducted in Excel. Each exam is worth a huge part of your grade. Stressful!

Worst professor I've had at WashU- and I've had some bad ones. Snir had no compassion in helping his students. I asked for help a couple of times and was shut down immediately. Especially during COVID, he made us even more stressed than we already were during a pandemic. WashU, you need to reevaluate Snir- he should just stick to research.

DAT 121 is a very boring class. Prof Snir tries really hard to make it engaging, but it just doesn't work. He cares a lot about the class, but it is a dreadful experience. Snir isn't terrible by any means, just isn't great.

Two exams where the average was in the 70s. No curve in the course. 60% of the class is in the B/C grade range, and he mumbles to himself in lectures.

Prof. Snir's lectures tend to be boring and drag on. The most useful things in the class are learning how to use Excel and how applicable stats is in the real world. The content of the class is fine, it's just that Snir doesn't do a great job at teaching it. Keep your expectations low.

One of the best professors I had in WashU. I think Professor Snir is very nice and helpful. His classes are well-organized. You need to prepare well in order to get a better grade. He likes to talk with his students and give them constructive advise. I will recommend him to every WashU student.

Absolutely one of the most boring lecturers at Wash U. I had to fight to stay awake every class. Terrible at answering questions, not that anyone really ever asked anyway because most were completely lost. I did all my learning by looking at the practice tests. I like statistics but I hated this class. Sorry excuse for a "professor".

Kind of boring and not entirely informative, but turned out fine. My favorite part of the class was an independent project where we had a lot of freedom to choose whatever topic we wanted, and was graded pretty leniently.

Not a super nice/friendly guy but his material is well organized and easy to follow. Exam grading is super specific -- you need to word things super specifically and follow the rules just as he likes them for full credit. Study hard and early and it will absolutely pay off.

The class itself isn't too bad. The only thing that bugged me was that his grading was very subjective and stingy. He tries to take points off and doesn't like regrades. As a person, he's just a boring, bland guy. Nobody really likes him, he's not hated, he's just an awkward guy. I'd recommend taking the class with another professor, but he's it.

The term paper and presentation can help if you mess up on the midterm. If you go over past homework and go to class and actually pay attention, then every quiz and exam is fair and doable.

One of the best professors I had in the school. The lectures are highly organized and even if some concepts are not explained clearly, he is always there for you to answer any question you might have. Very quick in replying emails. You can truly learn a great deal if you care about this course and attends lectures.

Snir has a sarcastic sense of humor, which I liked but some do not. As a teacher, he is fantastic. Gives us notes for every lecture and goes over things clearly. There is many opportunities for extra credit and the final term paper is graded easily. I would recommend.

Nice guy, but notes/lectures are often unorganized and confusing. Not as clear as Dr. Durai, and has more strict 'cheat sheet' policy. Never used book, attendance optional and not needed, easier to learn on your own. Final project, pretty easy.

He actually cares about the class and having kids learn, which is great. He doesn't require attendance, so most people do not show up. The classes are pretty interesting though and have cool real life examples. He is also a pretty nice guy.
