All around great course. I thought it was a little easier than game theory since it’s more applicable to real life. Problem sets are difficult but he grades liberally. There is a presentation component that can be a little challenging depending on what topic you choose. Exams are pretty in line with practice, although there is usually one question that wasn’t on the practices that forces you to apply the material. Overall interesting and rewarding class.

I found this class super interesting. Gray makes it easy to follow and the exams are easier than other Econ Strat classes. I always looked forward to this class

I did not like this class as much as other people did. I found it pretty boring and hard to pay attention. The curve is half points back though which is very generous.

Great professor. Clear lectures and material that has a straightforward style and occasional dry humor. Everyone dreads mec290, but I felt like Gray is the exception.

great professor/lecturer and nice guy but lectures were very dense. exams were fair for the most part and he gives lots of resources to study for them. doable class but definitely use office hours and friends in the class

Took over the summer. I really liked this class and professor. It was all asynchronous and exams were fair

Great professor! I was really scared of Game Theory because it is a hard course, but he taught it so well, everything made sense. Tests were really fair, lectures were engaging, and office hours were always open and helpful. I would definitely take this class again!

Andy Gray is straight up the best professor I've had in Olin so far. Unbelievable lecturer, nicest guy, and he cares so much. He's like that guy who is really cute but doesn't even know it--but with teaching. He has such a gift for teaching, but also the mentality of someone who is trying to improve themselves every day. It's so inspiring.

Professor Gray's class is designed for you to learn. The lectures are clear, concise, and well planned and you can tell that he cares about and understands on a high level the material being taught. Semi-weekly problem sets helped ensure I was understanding and engaging with the material so I didn't have to study as much when the exams arrived.

Translates material very well, very reasonable, teaches and lectures well. Is always available to help and seems to have great expertise in the material. Would recommend. An upper division class, so obviously expect some more work (weekly Problem Sets) but very manageable overall if you put in the effort.

For all the horror stories of Mec 290, a very straightforward and good lecturer. Show up, take detailed notes, and ask questions when you get confused, and you will get AT LEAST a B. Highly recommend.

Professor Gray gives clear, concise lectures that make micro concepts easy to understand. The content itself is not too difficult, and Gray makes sure that the problem sets are similar to tests. Gray seems to be the best MEC 290 teacher.

imo Gray is the best prof for mec 290. In general, it's a difficult course, but he really cares about teaching the material and making sure it gets understood.

Professor Gray is honestly the best professor that you can have for MEC 290. He explains the concepts really well and is willing to help the students. As long as you do the practice materials, you will PASS.

MEC290 is a pretty boring class to take, and the concepts are hard to digest sometimes, but Gray is a great lecturer who helps his students understand the topics well. Exams are open notebook and curved generously, and problem sets are graded for completion unless you really mess them up. MEC290 will suck, but take it with Gray if you can.

Micro is boring but Gray does a pretty good job of explaining the concepts. Sometimes his answers to people's questions can get a little long winded but other than that, lectures are useful to attend in person in case you have questions. Would strongly rec going to his office hours. Problem sets are fine, go to TA office hours if you need help.

Professor Gray is a great person and lecturer who genuinely cares about each of his students and makes himself available to help. Class is pretty lecture heavy, grade is determined mostly by two midterms and a final; there's also 6 problem sets and a case competition that's 10% of the course grade (case competition is completely outside of class).

Micro is really a boring class by nature. 1.5hr lectures feel like 2+hrs every time. Prof Gray is a personable guy who does about as good as a job as I'd hope for a professor in this class. His office hours are great, exams are open note and curved ~87, problem sets are helpful, and he gives a TON of practice exams. Nice guy if you get to know him!

Decent lecturer (econ isn't the most exciting topic to teach and he does not change this but doesn't do a bad job either). Concepts are hard to understand and tests are hard (but curved)
