He was a good boy! Class was loads of fun and not hard if you did the reviews

Sanchez is an amazing lecturer and is super passionate about math. His lectures are engaging and helpful, and he publishes notes for all students to use. However, Sanchez's exams are EXTREMELY hard. This class is difficult.

Sanchez is a great lecturer, and makes matrix algebra engaging. At the start of the semester I went to multiple professors and Sanchez definitely has the best teaching philosophy of him Roman and Chi(also the funniest!). Sanchez’ class is not all sunshine and rainbows though. He teaches this subject to learn and tests us on our understanding instead of the students ability to calculate. Fun class and very rewarding.

Sanchez is a pretty good lecture and post his notes (which are very helpful). You will learn a lot in this class, but be prepared to get a bad grade.

I know a lot of reviews say Sanchez's tests are hard. I have a hard time believing these people went to class or did the practice exams. His exams are so doable, the questions are just like the ones he asks in class and puts on practice exams. He gives a lot of extra credit, and curves generously. If you have an average understanding of the content, which is pretty simple, you can get close to perfect scores on exams. Im telling you that this class is easy

Sanchez gives extremely difficult exams compared to the other professors. He is funny and a great lecturer though. Exams are hardly computational and mostly involve complex logic / proof style problems even though he refuses to call them proofs.

You definitely learn a lot. Sanchez makes the tests extremely difficult. He also teaches to only a couple people that know a lot during lectures. His office hours were helpful though. Getting a great grade is tough, but it will really test your problem solving skills

Amazing professor but hood tests are really hard. You have to really work for a good great but soo worth it

Sanchez is an incredible lecturer, very organized, prepared, high-energy. One of my favorite classes, and I don't say that about every math course. Tests are hard but the practice exams are incredibly relevant and worthwhile. Going to office hours regularly throughout the semester was the best decision I made in terms of understanding the content.

His lectures are fantastic if you separate them from the exams he gives. For the other 4 courses I am currently taking (a mix of 2-level and 3-level courses), I have midterm exam averages of around 95. But my midterm average for this course is around 70, though I spent more time studying this course than all other 4 combined.

Sanchez is one of the funniest teachers I've had. He makes the course material super engaging. The class is not super easy and sometimes it can be hard to understand things conceptually. But he curves the tests and allows you to replace an exam with the final. He is also super caring and genuinely wants you to succeed.

Really engaging and fun professor. He makes the topics interesting. The tests are hard but he curved the class and let us replace the lowest test with the final at the end so that the grades ended up being reasonable. I like his style a lot and I learned a ton. He made me enjoy a relatively hard math class, and for that I am very grateful.

Super funny and enthusiastic professor; made the subject interesting. This was going to be my last math class but he made me want to take higher level math. Tests are very difficult; you'll have to work hard to get a good grade. He's very receptive to feedback and requests for help though and made FL2023 semester much easier/provided more resources

He made it a lot easier for fall 2023, solid guy with reasonable exams now. Would definitely suggest, Im on track for an A+.

Prof. Sanchez is a great lecturer and does a fantastic job of imparting the important lessons of matrix algebra. He is funny in class and truly seems to care about his students. If you want to learn matrix algebra, take his class. If you care more about your grade, don't. His tests are challenging and more conceptual than most math classes.

The most intelligent professor I have had at WashU, hands down. Great professor if you are a math major or truly interested in the subject. He will push you to really know the stuff!!!

Professor Sanchez is actually a really good lecturer; it's just that his tests are really hard. Generally, tests in total are worth more than half of your grade and what makes them hard is that many of the questions are theoretical rather than computational. Still, I feel I am learning a lot and homework takes about 3 hours a week, so not too bad.

I honestly think he is misunderstood. He LOVES to mess with people in class and taken lightheartedly, it makes the class really enjoyable. He is super sarcastic and cares if you show up to class. He does seem to care a lot about the students but also about earning a good grade rather than being handed it. Just go to class and apply yourself!!

professor Sanchez is a nice person. he cares about his students and he is super enthusiastic about math. Sometimes he thinks his students are as enthusiastic as he is, but sadly they are not.

the greatest math lecturer at washu but his test are so hard
4/16/2024
Lectures are good and he's a funny guy, the exams are just a lot more difficult than what he covers in lecture. Teaches to the one person that spends 40hrs a week studying. Exams much more conceptual. Helpful during office hours though.

Professor Sanchez is a great person and is very clearly super enthusiastic about what he is teaching, and also cares a lot about the students and their learning experience. However, the exams are incredibly difficult and are worth most of the grade of the course. I would recommend taking it with a different professor if grades are a high priority.

Tests are incredibly difficult and very theoretical. His explanations often left me more confused than before; I learned more from the Math Help Room and from classmates. Beware of typos on the tests, don't hesitate to bring something up! Only take this class if you're a math major, if not, I highly recommend taking it with someone else.
5/16/2023
Professor is nice and he interacts well with his students. However, his lecture is mostly reading the textbook with lecture notes he made based on the textbook and exams are really difficult.

Sanchez is a great lecturer and explains concepts very well. He gets to know his students well and doesn't give a lot of work. However, his tests are EXTREMELY hard and are NOT good measures of how well you know the material. There are only two midterms and one final, so these tests are weighed heavily. Don't expect the best grade in this class.
