Joachim Faust

Excellent class. Faust does a great job showing how Linguistics is relevant.

Worst class I've ever taken. Absolute waste of time, Faust taught nothing then left all assessments until the end. Nice guy just isn't effective as a teacher at all.

He takes attendance so must go to class (3 absences permitted). Flexible if you talk to him: let half of the class move the final. Easy if you listen in class & learn the vocabulary list. Speak up in class. However, set in his opinions and not open to views that contradict his own. Thinks his word is the law.

I like Faust, he's a great guy and really likes his students. It may not seem true, but he wants his students to learn. He doesn't accept opinions easily that aren't consistent with his own. Take linguistics with Faust for a fun, easier class. Maybe not the most informing, but it was fun to go to ad there wasn't much work.

Interesting, good, intro class. REALLY nice guy, pretty easy course. Class is fun and not boring. REALLY well-educated and has a lot of knowledge about a broad range of subjects and languages.
