Jon Turner

This class was the most difficult course and time intensive course that I took at wash u. I was regularly spending 20+ hours per week trying to understand the reading assignments and working on the labs. That being said, Turner was very clear on the material and expectations and was very helpful outside of class to those who asked for it.

According to the TAs it was his first time teaching Intro, but still... The quiz class average near the middle of the semester was in the 40's. Your final grade can't be higher than your average quiz score, so a lot of people withdrew. He was getting so much flack from students/TAs he changed his grade scale 2 hours before the withdrawal deadline.

Awesome teacher. The material he covers is really hard, but he puts a lot of effort to make it manageable for the student. He is also available almost anytime by email, and always does his best to respond with a complete answer to help us understand. Awesome experience

Very good prof. Quite difficult, but I really felt like I learned something after I was done. Some friends have disagreed, but I really enjoyed his course, and have worked with him after.
