Prof. Sayili is awesome. Super kind and is really invested in his students success. The class isn't too difficult as long as you keep up. He's also extremely accessible outside class and exams are relatively straight forward. Will move deadlines if need be to accommodate. He's been my fav prof at WashU and I'd highly recommend for any FIN course

I took Financial Management with Professor Koray and couldn't be happier. His lectures were clear and easy to follow. He challenged us with assignments and exams, but he was fair with grades and gave helpful feedback. He also knows how to support and work with international students, so if you are planning to take FIN5203, I highly recommend him!

One midterm (easier) and one final (harder) - both are MCQ. Exams are open book and you can use Excel. Group assignments are tricky but he helps a lot if you go to his office hours (and he holds plenty). His slides are well organized. He is understanding if you have an excuse not to attend. Overall good course and a good prof but not an easy A one.

I highly recommend taking VC methods with Sayili if you want to start your own venture. He covers many interesting subjects, and he does not give any exams. Definitely stop by his office if you have any questions about group projects or if want to chat about your venture ideas. He genuinely cares and goes the extra mile for his students.

You really don't know your grade in the class until the very end since it's curved. The final was pretty difficult and your grade is heavily based on the group assignments (which can be time-consuming), the midterm, and the final. The exams are all MCQs.

Prof. Sayili is a great lecturer and he cares a lot about his students. Definitely go to his office hours as he goes above and beyond to help you. There are two group assignments and a group presentation. He takes attendance and he starts each discussion session with a quiz. If you skim the case studies, you can answer the questions easily.

What you learn depends on the effort you put in. Midterm was a remote canvas quiz and final was in-person on canvas. Assignments and exams can unexpectedly be difficult. No partial credit on exams due to MCQ format. Attendance is taken randomly. Make sure to get a solid group for group assignments as it's 30% of your grade.

Both (or at least 1) of the tests will be online which is nice. The professor is very passionate and incredibly available. A good class.

Both the midterm and final is online, and there are like 3 homework assignments. The tests are pretty hard though, so even though its online you've got to study, but its essentially open everything. The professor cares a lot about you doing well and has plenty of office hours and explains the concepts well.

I took Fin 340 with Dr. Sayili and really enjoyed the class. The class was incredibly helpful in understanding finance, and really helped me with IB recruiting. He was also super enthusiastic about what he taught and was a very fair grader and understanding professor. One of the best if not the best professor I have had at WashU.

FIN340 is super chill. He's a great guy and really willing to help out in office hours. Fair assignments and grading. Would totally recommend- seems to be the best FIN340 prof in Olin.

Professor Sayili is a fantastic professor. He is always very willing and eager to help in class and during office hours. His Venture Capital Methods class is a great way to learn about Venture Capital in a practical, real-life setting. Grading is fair and content is interesting. The class has cases and a final presentation. Highly recommend it.
