Chill class, make sure to prep for research presentation for weekly class.

Kind of boring class if you don't care about the topics, but easy enough. Grades are weekly group assignments, 1 essay, 1 project, and some attendance.

Pretty hard class. I excelled in high school physics so I was expecting to get it pretty easily but I had to do a lot of work outside of class to understand. Attendance is mandatory and graded but Medeiros is an entertaining lecturer so you'd be best off going to his lectures anyway. Recitations are kind of annoying. You get 50 minutes to do a (usually 5-6 page) group packet and your grade on that entirely depends on the quality of your group. Group members change every week so one week you'll be put with people who understand and fly through the packet and then the next week you'll have to leave half the packet blank because you spent the entire time explaining to some guy why gravity points downwards (true story)

Lots of work outside of class but Medeiros is super passionate and helpful. PLTL is helpful depending on leader

Super interesting content. It's not THE most difficult class (esp. in pre-med) but it's tough. I've found that a lot of it is whether or not you 'get physics' or not, which is terrible advice but its real. So, just know yourself and seak supplemental help if you're someone not great at math and physics.

I'm a very anti-sciences person and so this class was a bit difficult for me so idk about all these only-1-star-difficulty ratings. But I did do well in it bc I had to spend a lot of time going back through material. PLTL helps sm and there are some good buffer grades to help your grade a bit. Medeiros is the goat and he's so helpful but also be prepared to answer questions along with your colleagues ;)

Very intellectually stimulating class. Medeiros is so funny without even trying. Only downside is Canvas doesn't show your grade.

so much harder than physics I. The professor is great (very loud which keeps you awake), but the content really picks up and the tests are very long and hard. Calculus is involved and it is much more confusing and less straightforward then first semester physics.

He is a very interesting teacher, but he doesn't always include many practice problems during his lectures which would help, especially for more difficult topics.

Dr. Medeiros is an amazing lecturer who really makes you appreciate physics. Electricity and magnetism is very challenging without a doubt, but Dr. Medeiros made it manageable. He can teach in a way that holds your attention for an entire 80 minutes, which is really hard to do. In-lecture demonstrations are always a classic.

When I had him as a professor he had a lot of enthusiasm and energy and clearly cared a lot about the subject. Would highly recommend his lectures.

Solid professor that was available for his students, whether that was through Piazza or office hours. Could've done more practice problems in class on the last exam's material rather than doing demos for every single concept, which I found was a little unnecessary. Had a strong understanding of the material.

Professor Medeiros presents lecture material clearly and concisely and always answers questions with detail and clarity. He creates a great classroom environment where he engages students with eye-opening demos related to physics concepts and encourages everyone to participate in discussions and ask questions.

Very very enthusiastic and energetic. Seems to genuinely care about how you're doing, always scans the room for questions and answers them thoroughly. At certain points the pace could feel a little slow (i.e. only doing 1 or 2 problems all of class), but otherwise, he made lectures clear and mostly engaging. In-class demos were also pretty cool.

Passionate in teaching, caring for students, one of the best professors I've ever had.

Medeiros does a really good job of making lectures engaging & interesting. The course is really well-structured and grading expectations are fairly straightforward. There were 3 online tests, each 4 hours long (no cumulative final) but I heard tests might be moving to in person next semester. There are several opportunities to pad/boost your grade.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Kind, caring and always responsive to students' questions. His enthusiasm in teaching makes this class whole lot easier.

Unintentionally hilarious. He fell off a chair and broke a clock without trying. Loves physics but obviously physics didn't love him. Will shout at you every day to have a good afternoon and says you signed a contract to answer questions. We love professor Medeiros!

Very enthusiastic and engaging lectures! His demos really helped me apply concepts and understand why this all matters. He always encourages participation and questions, but never cold calls or makes anyone feel stupid. He genuinely cares about his students and wants to make sure we are all understanding the material

Professor Medeiros is a brilliant Professor. He knows how to engage students. I hate physics, but I still enjoy going to class because of him. He's super understanding and responsive outside of class. I recommend 100%
