I took two classes w Prof Boyer. His exams and quizzes are quite easy, but he grades the papers quite harshly and doesn't give feedback. I received my final grade which was dependent on a single paper after we all left campus and didn't even see any comments as to why I received the grade I did. I had a high A the entire sem to be dropped down.

Canvas was difficult to navigate, canvas grades were never accurately updated, quiz questions either were not completed or could have multiple answers, email responses came off as passive aggressive. I would not have passed without the curve. Content is interesting but Boyer is an awful instructor.

Interesting topic, but I think the prof tends to be on the side of disorganized. I had a high A+ all throughout the semester to be dropped significantly because of the last essay grade which the grading wasn't really transparent. Talked to other people and I wasn't the only one.

Really dry lecturer, his slides/lectures were also really hard to understand (super hard to discern what's important vs. anecdotal details). Not a super tough class to do well in, though.

Pretty poor lectures -- really hard to understand what is a key point and what is a random detail. The quizzes are similar -- he chooses to put some random details on them that he doesn't really talk about in class. Not super engaging, wouldn't take again.

The course was very interesting, and Dr. Boyer was friendly. However, lectures were disorganized and convoluted. Clarifications were often even more confusing. Initially released the wrong grades for everyone at the end of the year, and still hasn't published midterm grades. Overall, an unnecessarily stressful experience.

Seems to take satisfaction from bullying his students, and treats struggling students with contempt. Should not be a professor.

Dr. Boyer is an amazing professor. He can be a little disorganized at times, and sometimes his explanations can be confusing, but overall there is more pros than cons.

Dr. Boyer did not adequately communicate the expectations of the course. The class was graded mostly on group projects and participation. Lectures were boring, and discussion was awkward. Boyer didn't have regular office hours and was very hard to reach. Would not recommend this course.

Human Evolutionary Psychology was one of the most interesting classes I've taken. Would highly recommend this class. Professor Boyer is very kind, great at lecturing, and generous with grading. Sometimes the quizzes were a little tricky, but anyone can get an A if you pay some attention.

Took Human Evolutionary Psych with Prof. Boyer and enjoyed the class a lot. His tests are writing-heavy and were a bit challenging, but not impossible if you've done the reading. He is a great lecturer and the material was not difficult to understand. He's also funny and lighthearted.

Intro to Memory Studies: Phenomenally interesting! Boyer made it a pleasure to go to class, even at 8:30am. Homework was really easy.
