Quality: 5Difficulty: 5ESE 2190

Nussinov came through for me!! The course was hard but she was there to help to give extensions to explain. Be prepared to work and you will be just fine.

Quality: 4Difficulty: 4ESE 2190

One of the most caring professors I ever had. She is genuinely there to get you through the material if you want to learn. The material was not difficult but it's a lot. I like her circuits class more than 2190.

There was lots of work, but it was mostly done in groups. Professor Nussinov was flexible with deadlines, and the exams were fine if you attended class. The antenna case study was great, and it ended with a fun poster session. I would take her class again.

So detailed focused and oriented. Not much to learn but spent a enourmous amount of time doing unnecessary tasks.

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Circuits was a challenging course and was loaded with a lot of coursework. Outside of that, it was very doable, and Nussinov was always there to help out, whether that was in the lab, ICE, or homework. If you put in work into the class, you'll be fine. Through her, I had a very thorough understanding of circuits. Also, exams were fair. Love her.

Quality: 1Difficulty: 5ESE 2190

exam was nothing like the practice exam

4/16/2026

Quality: 1Difficulty: 5ESE 2190

Lectures are long, boring, and not really coherent. Way too much work outside class with lots of research, case studies, biweekly time-consuming assignments, homework, and exams. Instructor is nice but doesn't really seem to care about workload feedback. This class is one of the least enjoyable I've taken so far.

4/16/2026

Quality: 1Difficulty: 5ESE 2190

Not great lectures. Too much work and research considering it's a math class. Case studies could be interesting if the workload (within the case studies and outside assignments) weren't so much. Kind professor.

Quality: 5Difficulty: 5ESE 2300

Her passion for the subject was contagious! Even though her course was difficult, I could tell she wanted her students to succeed.

4/16/2026

Quality: 1Difficulty: 4ESE 2190

Lectures were not worth going to; she reads off slides that have many mistakes. Workload was way too heavy for this course and not enough time was given for exams.

4/15/2026

Quality: 4Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Tsitsi is an amazing prof with good lectures, passion, and a caring attitude. That said, she assigns an insane amount of work to the point it becomes busywork. The labs do not need to be so much work and graded so harshly on small formatting errors. Also I did not feel they contributed much at all to my understanding. Exams are ok but a lot for 1hr

12/18/2025

Quality: 3Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Overall shes very nice and understanding. There is just way more busy work than ideal in her classes. She is also a very strict grader and generally does not make things easy even when they could be. Most weeks there was an extra thing to do that pushed the workload over comfortable.

12/11/2025

Quality: 4Difficulty: 4ESE 2190

Professor Nussinov is a good professor, but it's clear in 2190 that she needs more resources. The lectures are definitely dense with material, and it is unlike any math class I've taken. I think more revisions are needed to this class so that the learning outcomes are clearer.

5/13/2025

Quality: 2Difficulty: 4ESE 2190

Professor Nussinov is very kind and clearly cares about her students, but the lecture quality is mediocre. Mistakes and typos are frequently found in slides and posted notes, and oftentimes points are taken off for very random and trivial reasons. Thankfully there's a generous grading cutoff, and she's definitely willing to help during office hours

5/10/2025

Quality: 2Difficulty: 4ESE 2190

8-10 hrs/week

Very useful class with real-world applications in many subdisciplines of physics and engineering, but the quality of lectures is mediocre with many mistakes and typos in the slides and posted notes. Nussinov is very caring and always willing to help, but grading criteria is very unclear, inconsistent, and confusing; oftentimes points are taken off for trivial and random things as if it were a hardcore mechanism to prevent grade inflation since 2190 does have a generous letter grade cutoff. Case studies are very time consuming and getting good and competent teammates is very important.

Quality: 4Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Solid professor, really cares about her students' learning and well-being. The material itself isn't too bad and she provides great notes, but there's a lot of busywork. Exams and lab sessions could allow more time, but you get a cheat sheet for exams that can get you some points back. Get ready to put in a lot of time to write lab reports.

Some people say that she is a bad professor but she is actually great. Yes the material is hard but she makes sure that everyone in class follows along and makes sure that you are very prepared for the exams and labs. Amazing homework help and will guide you through the same problem 100 times if needed. Also always in a great mood. GOAT

Great course. For electrical/computer engineering majors, it's nearly a perfect, extensive course in electrical principles.nnThere was quite a bit of work for this class. There were 5 homework sets, each with an online and written portion. The homework were spaced about three weeks apart, and for a reason as trying to complete them in a few days was stressful. There were also in-class exercises (ICEs) that covered that lecture's topic due by the next lecture. The homework and ICEs was good prep for the three midterms (the final was the last midterm during the last week of classes). Exams could be challenging, but there was automatic extra credit for bringing a cheat sheet. There were weekly labs, which allowed for hands-on experimentation. The labs weren't too difficult, but it was important to be careful so experiments didn't have to be repeated. Labs required either a lab report or lab worksheet due the next week or some time after.nnNussinov was a wonderful, knowledgable, and kind professor. Her lectures were useful, and she provided complete lecture notes on Canvas. The lectures were usually very full, so it could get a bit loud. Her office hours are very, very helpful. Nussinov would confirm answers to the written homework and ICEs if asked, and she was willing to walk through problems as well. Very helpful.

If you put in the work, you will be able to get an A. With that being said, you have to put in a LOT of work.

not hard to get a good grade but SO much busy work

5/22/2024

Quality: 2Difficulty: 3ESE 2300

There was no time to actually learn the material with the amount of lab work and hw. Too much busy work to actually understand what I was doing. That being said, because there was so much going into the grade other than tests so it was pretty easy to get an A, but if you want to actually learn circuits, it takes a lot of discipline and time.

Prof Nussinov is an amazing and caring lecturer! You learn a lot about circuits in this class. Once you understand the material and practice problems, everything becomes natural

1/9/2024

Quality: 3Difficulty: 3ESE 2300

Professor Nussinov herself is very kind and helpful. Her notes are very well-organized and the course content itself is pretty straightforward. For the class itself, there is A LOT of busy work. The homework + in-class exercises + labs take up so much time. The lectures were sometimes a bit boring/confusing.

12/27/2023

Quality: 5Difficulty: 5ESE 2300

Great provided class notes. She cares a lot about individual students but her course is extremely tough. Exams are low stakes but difficult and there's a heap of homework. You'll get by if you're interested in the field but otherwise prepare to have no free time.

She's just a lot...

11/16/2023

Quality: 5Difficulty: 5ESE 2300

So much busy work, but everyone gets an A. Take ESE 230 if you want to have no free time.

1/19/2023

Quality: 5Difficulty: 3ESE 2300

Extremely nice professor and very helpful if you find her after class. The lectures are excellent and slow-pace. Lots of potential extra credit. However, this class has a lot of homework and a small (usually) exercise after each class. The A level is 85%. Her grading is very generous; in case your work meet all requirements, you will receive >90%.

1/17/2023

Dr. Nussinov is one of the best professors I have had at Wash U. She is incredible and really cares about her students. Her grading scale is amazing and she makes sure everyone understands the materials.

1/16/2023

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Circuits was my favorite class this semester. It is a LOT of work, but if you manage your time well and go to office hours and recitation, you will be fine. Dr. Nussinov is really helpful and understanding.

1/6/2023

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Professor Nussinov genuinely cares about students. She was always available to help and very accommodating. She lectures well and provides good notes.

5/18/2022

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

This class is simply a lot of work, especially taken online. Fortunately, Nussinov is super accommodating and accessible outside of class. Her lectures and explanations are clear, but I would still go to office hours (upwards to like once a week). Overall, she's super kind and really cares for her students.

5/11/2021

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Apart from labs that were difficult online, this was my favorite class. Professor Nussinov was very accommodating. Organized lectures and class material and super responsive by email or Zoom. thank you for a good semester.

12/27/2020

Quality: 4Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Dr Nussinov cares about her students! She is available to help when the class material gets overwhelming. Her online class this semester is one of the best classes I have taken. I feel this class would be way better in person.

12/1/2020

Quality: 4Difficulty: 2ESE 2300

Professor Nussinov provides lecture notes which are clear and concise, and her lectures are decent as well. Quizzes and homework were manageable; not overly difficult, but still got you thinking. The one issue I had with the class was the insane amount of time it took to receive feedback on lab reports.

12/1/2020

Quality: 3Difficulty: 2ESE 2300

This class is alright in terms of content, and Nussinov definitely tried to make it a more pleasant experience during Covid by dropping the weight of quizzes and making them easier as things went on. However, labs tended to get graded late and the class uses Pearson MasteringEngineering for some of the homeworks, which is extremely frustrating.

11/20/2020

Quality: 1Difficulty: 3ESE 2300

Nice person but horrible teacher. She was unorganized and made a lot of mistakes in class and even in her homework/exam problems. It once took me three days to convince her that her solution to a simple step function problem was wrong. Ridiculous. She also failed to communicate actively with the class.

10/2/2020

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

i love her lectures!

11/1/2019

Quality: 5Difficulty: 3ESE 2300

Professor nussinov is a great teacher who cares about her students. She is even more helpful one-on-one. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS and I repeat GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS.

5/8/2019

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Dr. Nussinov is an outstanding professor. She takes her students opinions very seriously and is very clear in lecture. However, because this is a large class, it is hard to hear her if you do not sit near the front. She bases her exams on "easier" versions of the online homeworks. Very fair professor

12/14/2018

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

If she taught any other classes, I would take them.

12/4/2018

Quality: 1Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

She does not have many redeeming qualities. Her lectures are spotty and badly done, there is a lot of busywork, the labs are downcurved, and are a literal mess. The only upside is that she's nicer in office hours, so when you take 230, make sure to go to office hours. It is worthwhile to note that she is not helpful in office hours.

10/23/2018

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Overall, Nussinov is very caring. She works through plenty of examples in-lecture, and is super accessible during office hours. Lab reports are a time-sink, however. Expect to put in several hours in each report. Sometimes makes mistakes in lecture, but is a lot better in a smaller group/1-on-1 setting than she is in a lecture setting.

4/25/2018

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

I took this class last fall and got an A+. Dr. Nussinov had a lot of group activities that were very helpful. The work-load was heavy - this is a 4-unit course. She was very helpful and friendly every time I went to see her. Circuits was my best grade of the semester.

3/10/2018

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Professor Nussinov is a very good teacher but the class was too large with close to 200 students. I think this class would have more positive opinions if this was a smaller lecture class of 40 students. It would make a difficult subject more accessible and understandable. A very caring professor - go to office hours if you can.

1/8/2018

Quality: 5Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

I learned a lot in this class. Participation is mandatory though you can skip class twice without consequences. She has an accent - but its not too bad. The exams are hard if you miss class. Office hours are super-helpful. It was a big class - Dr. Nussinov handled it well. Solid teacher.

12/19/2017

Quality: 2Difficulty: 4ESE 2300

Circuits was by far one of my worst classes, and Nussinov was a big part of that. She's really nice, and pretty helpful one-on-one, but she can't lecture well at all. Makes mistakes all the time, and isn't always super clear on what's expected on exams. To be fair, she is new to teaching, and will get better. For now, I would not recommend.
