Not hard if you pay attention, Liberty is hands down the most interesting and engaging prof for DAT120 and amongst the best in the B-school

The in-class case studies are her just mostly flexing her accomplishments (deservedly so), and she has a great sense of humor. You won't learn anything ground breaking, but it is a solid intro class. There is a group project element which can eat up time out of class. Attendance is tracked and graded, so stay on top of that.

vittert will make you watch movies instead of going to class. highly recommend. \n\nshe is insane

Vittert is an engaging lecturer and as someone whose attention drifts easily, I really appreciated that. She is very sweet and funny, but I felt a lot of the time what she lectures did not translate well to homework and quizzes. I would just beware of that, as there will be things that you have to teach yourself throughout the course.

1. You can't learn a lot from this class, but you could learn from Prof. Vittert how to think deeply about a fact by using stats knowledge (e.g., is it misleading).n2. She didn't teach technical stats knowledge. You should learn literally almost all by yourself. She didn't teach the knowledge that is tested on quizzes.n3. grading is not systematic.

Professor Vittert is a charismatic and inspiring figure, and her lectures are incredibly engaging - she really drills into your head the importance of data. I agree, however, that she doesn't teach much of the actual course content, which leaves you ill-prepared for DAT 121. Those without prior stats knowledge will struggle a bit with the quizzes.

I agree with a lot of the reviews here- Vittert's lectures ar interesting and she uses a lot of case studies that make the class feel applicable to real life. However, she doesn't teach much. Bus students are required to take 2 more stat classes after this, and no one I've talked to feels prepared because of her lack of teaching actual statistics.

One of my favorite professors at WashU. Prof Vittert's lectures were very interesting and engaging. She was helpful and understating with the final group project. She made me more interested in stats, and she always gave real world examples that helped me understand the material better.

Professor Liberty is literally one of the best professors I have had at WashU. She was really supportive when my group had issues choosing our project topic. She is so understanding and honestly cares about her students' success. My advice is try to participate in class and take your group projects seriously!!

Highly, highly, highly recommend. Incredibly personable, very nice, and excellent at not just explaining material but also making sure you understand why said material matters. Not sure if she's doing Dat120 again but whatever class she ends up teaching take it.

Professor Vittert's lectures were very interesting. I learned something new every class. She will occasionally lecture about required statistics topics but most of the time she emphasized the importance of statistical analysis through case studies. DAT120 is an easy class with a few quizzes and a large group project.

The lectures and case studies were so cool and I really enjoyed this course with her. A lot of her work is really interesting and after taking this class, I've become much more interested in dat. highly recommend dat 120 with vittert

A compelling and intriguing professor. Her lectures are interesting, but when investigating lecture content, it is lacking a lot of the actual statistical concepts or principles that often come with a stats class. I didn't take stats in high school, so I needed this aspect more than others. Overall a great professor, but I didn't learn too much.

DAT 20 is such a stupid class since all you learn are the very basics of statistics that 99% of WashU students already learned in high school. However, Vittert makes up for how mundane this course is with her very entertaining lectures, which mostly cover engaging case studies. Quizzes are online, final project is easy, take this class w Vittert.

Very easy and interesting class. The case studies we do in class are cool. Don't feel like I learned much about stats though...

Awesome teacher and really cool. Do case studies every class which are really interesting, and quiz material was incredibly easy if you took stat in high school.

Incredibly easy class as long as you do the work. Liberty is a super cool person, goes through interesting case studies in class. Most of grade determined by weekly homework assignments and semester-long (group) data project. Beware if you want to actually learn statistics, this might not be the most rigorous/challenging/rewarding class for you.

Professor Vittert is a very funny gal; she makes going to class worth your time. The content itself is not difficult and she does a great job using case studies to apply the concepts in an understandable way. She's the most chill professor I've had so far at WashU! DAT120 will be as easy as you make it for yourself, go to class, and do the work.

Professor Liberty was very understanding and cool. At the end of the class during there's a big event at Olin where the board of trustees and chancellor would be at, she invites students from DAT120 to talk to them as student ambassadors. Her lecture style was very interesting, but there is rarely notes, so a lot of self studying.

This professor is the best professor I have ever had. She not only teaches the material to understand statistics, but she also teaches why you should care about data and how it can be misused. There were barely any quizzes, however I still learned more than I have in a lot of my other classes. She is always available to students as well.

Professor Vittert is an incredible teacher. She makes you really care about your learning, and the class overall is not very difficult. While it may be easy to get an A, you will learn so much about data science and see the impact of your studies in the world.
