The Business of Sports

MANAGEMENT

This course provides an overview of the major aspects of the sports business industry, including but not limited to the following: (1) the primary revenues and expenditures of pro and college sports; (2) collective bargaining agreements; (3) sports media rights; (4) facility financing; (5) sports sponsorships and athlete endorsements; (6) the role that sports commissions play within communities; and (7) current events that affect the growth and evolution of the sports business industry.

His grading scale is horrible, makes the class unfair. Super entertaining and interesting class though.

While admittedly some of the readings are rather dumb (you are tested on them too) and Rishe spends a lot of time bragging about his connections, the lectures are still rather engaging and he's a great guy to speak to outside of the classroom. He's very knowledgable on & caring for the subject matter. Worth taking him for any sports business class.
