Great guy, the most important aspect of taking a class with him is creating a relationship with him and utilizing connections. otherwise, the material is interesting, but knowledge of the material is graded horribly on tests. attend class and participate.

So disingenuous.

His grading scale is horrible, makes the class unfair. Super entertaining and interesting class though.

While admittedly some of the readings are rather dumb (you are tested on them too) and Rishe spends a lot of time bragging about his connections, the lectures are still rather engaging and he's a great guy to speak to outside of the classroom. He's very knowledgable on & caring for the subject matter. Worth taking him for any sports business class.

He grades you on dumb assignments and exams that test your sheer memorization of specific things that will likely have no value moving forwards, and then has bizarre grading criteria. He is a good lecturer but there is no material to back it up, and then we are expected to memorize like 10 different lists that say effectively the same thing.

Rishe's personality is fantastic. I never dreaded going to lecture, always felt welcomed to go to office hours, and thought he had a great sense of humor. The class was graded by very few things. The exams really did not test that much microeconomic knowledge and tested much more on arbitrary current events (was annoying). Didn't learn that much.

For Rishe's MEC 290, you don't need to know microeconomic quantitative concepts super well. He tests primarily on examples he gives in class, or applications in the textbook. He goes over things quickly in class, so I would highly recommend rewatching his classes and taking notes from that. Often gets off topic and tries to tell jokes/ anecdotes.

I was not a fan of Professor Rishe or his class. I found his explanations to be very confusing and was really not a fan of his attitude. He constantly talked about himself. Based on the class structure, you aren't tested on the concepts of micro, but rather the articles and applications he has you read outside of class. Would not recommend.

He was an absolutely fantastic professor for MEC290. He explains the concepts in a way that makes them easy to understand, and if you don't understand you can just ask and he'll be happy to help. There were no homework assignments in the class, just 2 test and 2 quizzes which all required significant studying but were very fair.

Fantastic professor. Probably one of my favorite professors at WashU. Lectures are great. He really explains the concepts in a way that is understandable. He integrates real world events and applications into the course which is super helpful. Would highly recommend.

Pat is really so great. Has good, entertaining lectures and really takes the time to get to know his students. He also is very good at making the material applicable in the real world and gives very valuable life tips for working, in the business world or otherwise.

Only professor I've ever had at WUSTL that sends out weekly emails. Extremely friendly - knows all students by name. Reasonable, nice, charismatic. Tests are tough and packed with questions.
