Contemporary Korean II: From Everyday Life to Professional Life

KOREAN

This is a content-based, high advanced level Korean course that emphasizes developing an advanced level of reading proficiency and writing skills in Korean. Expanding learners' understanding of Korean culture and expressing opinion about more complex and abstract concepts in Korean is also the main goal of this course. We will use dynamic and meaningful contexts like literary texts, films, Webtoons or critical essays for realistic language usage. Through several projects like "Where these places are", "Tracing Korean history through Films", or "Mock Interview", students will develop Korean in all aspects of languages: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Prerequisite: L51 428 (grade of B- or better) or permission of instructor.

I think I gained a lot out of this class, it challenged me a lot by having to read a lot of Korean texts. I recommend taking it if you want to advance your Korean skills a lot.
