Quality: 1Difficulty: 5CHEM 1702

As the comments stated below... Very nice professor with a sweet heart bit awful at lecturing. I am in his Chemistry 312 class now (Inorganic Chemistry) and his method of teaching is reading off of the slides expecting you to retain any miscellaneous information you deem worthy. First exam was very hard and he denied access to practice exams.

He is pretty smart and has a witty sense of humor. With that said, I don't know if he likes teaching. It seems like the TAs did all of the work for the class and Mirica just lectured. This made the exams (written by the TAs) tough since it was not always clear how the questions linked to the lectures.

Very good and clear lecturer. Much better than Bleeke. He cares a lot about the students. Tough exams, but they are realistic.

He's the best. He made chemistry actually interesting and had very entertaining demos. His accent and funny quotes added to my enjoyment of the class, and his enthusiasm and helpfulness were great.

What a great year. 1st Loomis and now Mirica. You cannot do better. Mirica was very clear, and he kept the humor up to keep our attention on some very boring material. Don't blame Mirica for it being boring, it has to be covered. I tried Bleeke's lectures a few times, and they were painful.

Mirica is a nice, funny guy who cares about his students. His lectures were interesting. There were a lot of helpful problems posted. His exams were tough and a little too long, but I noticed that after people told him this, the third exam was shorter. Take his section.

A great professor. Exams were more difficult than previous years, but his teaching was clear and concise. If you watch his lectures and do the work you will be good to go. Very amusing as well!

A good professor overall who really knows his chemistry. The material covered in class was somewhat boring, but he made it more interesting by doing demonstrations and telling the occasional joke. He has a bit of an accent, but it didn't affect my ability to understand him at all. Exams were harder than in past years, but not unbearable.

He explained the subject matter very well and was very prepared for lecture. He genuinely cares about his students and made class interesting. Tests were hard but overall I enjoyed the class.

Prof. Mirica is a brilliant guy who makes a boring subject interesting. His accent is nice to listen to (Oh-Meh-Gah!). Mirica is a little Loomis-like in his teaching style. He cares a lot about his students. He does demos and jokes around to keep attention. He does tend to write more difficult questions than the professors in past years.
