Martha Precup

Professor Precup is great! I took her Honors Math 1 as my introduction to proof-based mathematics. The course is challenging, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. She lectures great and clearly, and have very inspiring OH. She organizes homework so that 1-2 problems are more difficult, and she intentionally does that to motivate students to seek for help.

Precup makes this class difficult (as it should be). Her lectures are solid and she provides good study resources, but the tests were challenging. She also left for 2 weeks in the middle of the semester, leaving us with a sub, which wasn't ideal. However, she is super nice and cares about student success.

Relates to students well and explains proofs well. She is happy to help in office hours, which are very helpful. Lots of homework which is very difficult, but collaboration is encouraged.

310 is a tough class with every professor. She's doing a fair job, but the thing is: She gives out way too much homework (I need about 2 hours just for copying with Chat's help). There's no curve on the exams, but the exams are hard and there's very little extra credit, so it's bad for your grade.

She is a great professor. I love her lectures bc she always explains idea very clearly. It is great to have her as your first proof-based class. Attend her office hour, it will be inspirational for you.

Professor Precup explains things well and is so nice. Generally, the examples she goes over are easier than the ones on the quizzes but just do some extra practice outside of class and you'll be ok. The Calc II workbook is really helpful because it has practice problems and equation summary sheets. Webwork problems are a good grade booster too.

Excellent lecturer. Clearly understands material and is able to effectively communicate it. Homework and exams is challenging but certainly doable. Accessible outside of class.
