a lot more work assigned compared to the other college writing classes, everything counted towards our grade and a lot of the assigned readings/videos/movies felt loosely related to the course. he makes you a better writer but you really have to work for your grade (definitely go to office hours)

not a bad college writing, sanders assigned a pretty average amount of writing comparatively and none of it was graded too harshly. obviously varies a lot based on professor, but the readings we had were pretty interesting and short for the most part

Great professor but exhausting class - you'll be sick of writing by the end. Pretty lenient grading, offers extensions, and it's clear that he wants his students to succeed. Class discussions are interesting! Never gives 100% on assignments, but as long as you do class readings and put effort into papers, you'll be fine.

Kind person. Lots of reading though. Be prepared to discuss them in class. Grading is ok as long as you follow all the requirements and communicate with him on his expectations.

Good person overall but a harsh grader. Much worse than the other College Writing Program professors. He doesn't tell you for what specific reason points are taken out from your papers. Participation points are tough to get as well.

Good and interesting in class discussions. Most of your grade is determined by essays but being in class is mandatory and important for doing them right. Pretty lenient grading and helpful format of writing larger papers in pieces for different grades. Recommend the class.

Dr. S was chill and funny; he did not feel distant or unreachable. He genuinely wanted us to learn and improve our writing. Readings were interesting, class was fun, and he was happy to answer questions. We were given detailed feedback on papers, which was very helpful. Overall, he makes writing more approachable. Would definitely recommend.
