Oren is great. Good lecturer, funny, and nice. Participation is a key part of your grade. Tests were hard and seemed confusing to study for, but the Olin curve helped. Your Case Competition group is key to this class. People have mixed feelings about this class due to their teammates in this. TAs are helpful. Good intro class for Olin.

Amazing lecturer, always engaging with the class and giving opportunities to participate. Was a great introduction to the Olin Business School as a Freshman. Could be a tough grader though.

Oren is the sweetest and super kind but he does move quickly through topics and exams are often confusing. He does care a lot about his students and made sure we had a good time. Grades are heavily inflated based on case comp performance.

Reshef's lectures were quite hard to understand at times, especially the math. He breaks things down to their "intuition," but the concepts are confusing and difficult to grasp. Slides are jumbled with tons of numbers and he doesn't explain the relationship between them well. Participation heavy.

Though the class was difficult, Oren himself made it more enjoyable. He had a good sense of humor, engaging lectures, and tried to care about students. I don't think he's condescending or intimidating, but you'll have to be ready to participate in discussions and be wrong/challenged. But, his exams are tricky and rely heavily on lectures/reading.

Teacher was great and made the class more interesting. The class in itself is difficult because the exam questions tend to be worded to give you a hard time. However, the exam scores are curved so if you do above average, participate in class and do well on case comp you should manage a good score in this class.

Oren was a great professor! His lectures kept me interested and wanting to learn more throughout the semester. From what I know, his class is more difficult than other MGT 1000 profs. Grading is slightly weird: he keeps grades hidden until the end of the semester when he weights your grade relative to peers. Overall, a great and personable guy.

"If you do well above the curve you will do well", no shit. Not a good class or taught well with terrible review under this one.

I took this class in spring 2025 and it was my favorite at WashU. This class is hard, but not nearly as hard as people make it sound. If you get well above the curve on 2/3 exams and have a strong showing on the case competition and participate in class, you will do great. I learned so much in this class and loved Reshef's humor and knowledge!

He is honestly an extremely handsome guy that is great to be taught by. He teaches great and any of the bad comments are lying. He teachers amazingly and everything is so easy. I honestly didn't even have to study at all just breezed through the course. Almost everyone gets an A, you don't even really have to study just try to show up sometimes.

The course content itself is the easiest, but this class is by far the most confusing one. No matter how hard you work for it, don't expect to receive a good grade for the extremely simple material. On top of that, you won't know your grades until the semester ends. Overall, this class is simply a scam.
9/25/2025
The course is expansive. The mindtap we only use 3 times cost around 130 and a textbook cost 120. The textbook is just the course reading, dk why need to buy it.

Grading is mostly done by TAs. Especially for case analysis, you can easily tell how subjective and unfair the grading is.

This course is the weirdest course I've ever taken at this school. The material itself is easy, but the exam questions are very confusing and overly subjective. The questions and answers don't make sense oftentimes.

Oren is an amazing and very engaging lecturer. Participation matters in this class and the people who regularly participated tended to do better. At times, Oren can be inaccessible outside of class, however he genuinely seems like a caring, very smart guy.

2 or less hrs/week
Grade pretty much dependent on how good your team is in case comp

Oren is a great and engaging lecturer and is respected within class. While he joked around, his condescending and "knows better" attitude made class tense. The content was fine, but because scarce practice (esp. math based questions) and abstract exams, learning was difficult. Worse, the grade scale and cumulative grades were never given.

Oren has good lectures where he explains the material thoroughly and gives good examples. Tests were hard because the material was presented in a different way than it was taught in class, so students can work toward developing "intuition", but there\'s always a curve.

His lectures are super engaging and fun! However, he is kind of condescending (a lot of people describe him that way) when he calls on people in class and gives you basically no validation at all when you answer questions. The tests are kind of hard, but the curve is good and if you do well on the case competition your grade will be fine.

Oren is very smart, and very good at lecturing, but condescending. If you're not a favorite, it's much harder to succeed in the class. Tests are designed for failure and he acts like they are very easy, which can be frustrating. While presenting for case comp, he was laughing at us, not paying attention, and asking questions we'd already answered.

Oren was okay. He came off as condescending, and I didn\'t find him to be a compelling professor. The class is not fun: The content isn\'t complex, but the tests are seemingly crafted to discourage students. That said, be prepared to encounter oddly-worded questions. Worth noting: I was "on track to receive an A-" all semester but received a B.

Oren was great. MGT 100 puts a lot of content and a case comp all into 3 exams and a presentation. He made class as fun as it reasonably could be, and pretty much made sure everyone participated. doing so was a bit scary as you'd get called out, but it forced me to actually prep a bit for class. First exam is HARD, after that it isn't too much work

Super engaging and fun class. Tough tests but the curve helps out with that

Reshef is good at lecturing and responding to student questions. He is not afraid to call a comment stupid and tries to sneak some comedy into class. The class is fairly easy, but the grading system is unclear, which can cause unnecessary stress. The exam questions don't match up with practice questions, but the grading is generous.

MGT 100 was my hardest class this sem, but also my favorite. Reshef is super intimidating at first, but I would recommend going to office hours because you can get to know him and find out that he cares a lot about the subject and the students. Tests are kind of worded poorly but the curve is life saving. Enjoy this class, embrace the challenge!

Although Professor Oren shows much care and passion for his class, he came off as very condescending to me especially if you don't have the right answers. Also, the class is very test heavy so three exams in the class are worth a lot in terms of your grade. Make sure to come prepared and do the readings! Also participate as much as you can.

Oren is a great guy with a great personality. It's clear how intelligent he is and he is a good lecturer. You definitely have to put in the work in this class but it's rewarding. Take a class with him if you get a chance!
12/16/2022
MGT 100 is a very mundane and useless class, but Oren makes the best of what he has. He's a hilarious personality, explains concepts very well, and gives very helpful feedback for the case comp. He's a bit intimidating at first, but don't be afraid to ask questions because he's very helpful.
12/13/2022
I really liked Oren. He is very intimidating at first, but the class is really not that difficult even though they do try to scare you at first. If you put in effort your guaranteed a B+. Also don't use the online reading. I didn't read once and did fine.
12/12/2021
Good lectures - easy to understand the content. The course is difficult but TA and professor help will go a long way. Oren means well and is a good teacher.
12/10/2021
Professor Reshef can be a bit rough around the edges but is a really great guy once you get to know him. He's incredibly intelligent and a great lecturer. He genuinely cares about his students and takes students' feedback seriously. Highly recommend taking classes with him.
