Reviews
6-8 hrs/week
so many readings, hard tests, basic concepts of business

The readings are excessive, esoteric, useless, and unfocused. A vast amount of topics are covered, none are specified and Kiousis makes it HARDER rather that easier to understand content covered. Expect to never speak to Kiousis directly, as she will always defer questions to TAs instead and be offended when there is any opposition to her opinions.

Oren is an amazing and very engaging lecturer. Participation matters in this class and the people who regularly participated tended to do better. At times, Oren can be inaccessible outside of class, however he genuinely seems like a caring, very smart guy.

You don't know your grade in the class till the very end, and there are small reading check quizzes every class, which is very annoying (and stressful at times). She really cares about her work, and her lectures are good. Not an easy A, but definitely doable with medium effort. The case studies in class are informative, and case comp is intriguing.

Tsolmon is very sweet and reminds us that she does want all of her student to succeed. Her class though, can get pretty heavy with all the readings, and exams are heavily weighted (but curved). I enjoyed the class as I learned a lot, but there were a lot of times where her class was my biggest headache. All in all, lov

Definitely a hard course, and the content that you learn will depend on which professor you have. With the case of Kiousis, a lot of the content depended more on readings rather than math, so that was different than professors like Tsolmon. Kiousis was one of the most engaging lecturers that I've ever had, so if you have the chance to take a class with her I'd highly recommend.

Grade pretty much dependent on how good your team is in case comp

Wu was hard especially when you don’t have economic background

Pretty difficult introductory course. Wu can be a pretty boring lecturer, but if you keep up to date on homeworks and class content, the tests are pretty straightforward. The case competition component varies in difficulty but is never too overwhelming until the end. There is a very large curve at the end of the course.

Lots of readings (especially after textbook readings are done), but the class is very interesting and not too difficult as long as you pay attention and participate daily or most days. Case comp was interesting but stressful because of the team I ended up with :’)

It’s a stupid class. Not worth your time unless you are positive you want to transfer to the Bschool. You don’t know your grade until final ones are posted and most of the students love to suck up to the professor!

Tsolomon is super kind. Econ unit is hard if you haven’t taken an Econ class previously. Tests are difficult, even after studying.

Class content itself isn't too difficult, but lectures are spent mostly discussing the superficial ideas and actual quantitative practice is left to subsections with TAs. Lots of reading before every class which is very painful for a slow reader like me. Case comp is very time consuming but TAs are super helpful with those. Exams are very long but curved but we'll never know our actual grade until the semester ends. On the bright side, Tsolmon is great at engaging the class and leading us to think like a business & management professional.

I took management 100 my first semester of freshmen year and it was not as hard as people claim it to be. If you stay on top of the material and study a fair amount of time in advance of the final you will do just fine. Homework isn't that bad but there is some. The class gives some decent introduction to managerial concepts.

With case competition, we were easily doing 6 hours on that alone, let alone regular homework readings and problems sets

Tsolomon is a great lecturer and a fun teacher, however the class covers tons of content. Lots of readings, which you need to understand very well, and tests are impossible. You won’t know your grade until the end, so it’s kind of hard to do well in this class.
