Rachel Adams

She gives very lengthy and useful assignment feedback, is not an especially difficult grader, gives relatively little work, and is a kind person. But she gives rambling and boring lectures, assigns largely uninteresting readings, and gives assignments that feel worthless and don't contribute directly to your writing ability.

Professor Adams is so helpful and understanding. She is always willing to give extensions if needed. She is also a pretty easy grader and provides thoughtful feedback on your writing.

Although a bit disorganized, Professor Adams provides insightful feedback on essays in the form of voice memos, which I found peculiar. Also loved the heavier emphasis on nightmares in D&N. I don't think it's possible to get anything but an A in this class if you turn everything in and at least try a little bit. Also she's funny in an unhinged way.

I genuinely had fun in this class. Prof Adams is such a nice and funny person and her method of teaching is very interesting. She may be disorganized at times, but I feel that makes the class even more exciting because it opens up new discussions that I would never have done prior. Super approachable teacher and always emails back quickly.

She tweaky af but she low-key chill. She talks to herself and mumbles but it's chill cause it doesn't usually pertain to you. She grades things a little late. she shows up to class late A LOT. lots of reading but you can usually just BS and get away with it. Any way it's a good class. As long as you show demonstrated effort, you will get an A

She talks or talks to herself most of the time which is really dull. Readings not heavy, no test or quiz on the reading, just need skim thru a bit before class. Workload is fine. Compare to other cwp teachers, she is good.

2-4 hrs/week

If you make it look like you are putting in a lot of effort she will grade you generously. Half assed my papers and still somehow had an A+. Also, she cancels class randomly/leaves early for things and gets distracted fairly easily (we spent like 30 minutes on catgpt watching it respond with meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow)

She's canceled class last-minute multiple times and takes a long time to grade papers. Also, for D&N, she chooses a lot of horror media for assignments, so watch out if that's not your thing.

Rachel was amazing! She's a bit disorganized, but keeps class fun and engaging. She gives useful essay tips and is a nice grader. Definitely participate in class, that is really important!

Classes are unorganized. Takes her months to give feedback. She never submits grades so you never know what grade you have currently in the class Grading is tough and very unclear. Hard to learn from her.

Professor Adams was great! I had her over the summer for FSAP. She is very helpful when you need it and class was very laidback. Would take her again!

Really great professor. Knows how to keep things light, fun, and engaging. The Dreams and Nightmares theme is really cool to explore because you get to analyze interesting topics like the supernatural. The film analysis section is very interesting because it's something different than just analyzing text. Fun way to get the CWP credit.

Easy way to get your CWP credit. The short creative writing assignments at the beginning of the semester were fun and engaging while the longer essays had genuinely interesting topics (ex. metaphorically analyzing a movie) and were graded fairly. Minimal reading.
