Very very straightforward homework and exams. International finance is very similar to macroeconomics, just with more exchange rate math.

International Finance by Mark Taylor was one of my favorite courses here at WashU. Absolute beast and an amazing professor. He definitely cares about his students and his assignment/exams are super manageable.

The professor is very knowledgeable and knows his subject really well. He speaks not only from a technical perspective, but also from a practical viewpoint which makes the course unique and informative.

Great class. Prof. Taylor makes complex material easy to understand and all slides are accessible. He wants you to succeed in the class if you are willing to try. If you're into international finance you could go very in-depth with the professor and the materials-- he's an international expert who's actually done the work which is cool.

No guidance was provided on HW, and questions were set up to trick you. Avoid this professor at all costs. Basically, you're teaching yourself throughout the semester which makes things very stressful.

Lectures are exact copies of the textbook with the same examples and no further explanation. Homework is often solved wrong, and when correct, solutions are hard to follow. Cases are open-ended but graded with a rubric looking for very specific things, making it easy to lose random points. Overall a good guy, but easier to just teach yourself.
