Not helpful in lecture. Speeds through things and expects you to know it. The final was nearly impossible this semester (the average doesn't show it but it was) and was

So many formulas to memorize calc 2 was much more fun

Best Professor I've Ever Had. He explains complex concepts with such clarity and depth that everything feels understandable. What truly sets him apart is how deeply he cares about his students. His kindness and compassion create an incredibly supportive learning environment. On top of that, he's hilarious, making class not only informative but fun!

Honestly made me want to get a math minor. Schaefer is the best.

Schaefer remains unparalleled for Calculus lectures. Precup was also very good.

Schaefer is the best professor I've had at WashU. He is an incredible lecturer, and it is easy to follow his work. The WebWork is annoying but incredibly helpful for gaining mastery of topics. Exams are not hard, just keep up with classes and homework, don't try to cram all the lecture recordings in a few days.

Free A if you know how to study, he's great.

Professor Schaefer is an amazing Professor. He is very organized and gives practice tests and quizzes to help people succeed.

Thinking in 3D can seen somewhat daunting at first but Schaefer makes it doable. Don't forget your basic differentiation and integration techniques e.g. chain rule, u=sub, integration by parts, etc. but overall not too bad at all.

content is pretty easy and exams are predictable and follow the practice ones. I didn't pay attention in lecture, all the concepts can be figured out pretty intuitivly

Lectures aren’t necessary and tests are reasonable. Homework can be a little difficult, but you have lots of time to do it.

Best structured class I’ve taken at WashU. Interesting content and fairly easy!

Yang seemed like a system player- teaching from thornton’s work book in the way Thornton wanted him to. The teaching philosophy of this class was bad. Didn’t really teach anything and left kids to do practice problems during class. Yang would walk around answer questions, but there wasn’t enough time. However calc III isn’t such a hard subject and it works good enough.

Just an extension of calc 2– super easy to comprehend. Easier than 1&2 espc. if you understand them

Horrible professor, scary, webwork sucked and exams were hard

Class was not hard most of the semester, had Wick for lectures. Thornton is a cuck for making the final exam ridiculously hard and dropping me to a B+ but I would've had an A- if I'd gone to discussion sections

Thornton has a workbook that directly follows his lectures and makes everything straightforward. Some of the webworks can get annoying and the final for my year was extremely hard compared to the first three tests. Topics can get confusing, its what you'd expect for Calc.
