took intro psych freshman fall with him and he was great! engaging lecturer, cared about his students, easy to understand and follow and outlined the class very clearly. Go to class or if you skip lecture honestly just study vocab terms from the textbook and you will be fine. easy A with a little effort

Prof Bergstrom is super engaging, his lectures are always interesting, and he explains things clearly. I would definitely recommend him for intro to psych.

explains super well and keeps students engaged in lectures through videos and examples. if you study the terms on the slides you will do good on the exam.

Bergstrom is an awesome professor. His lectures were always interesting, and I enjoyed the analogies and historical stories he would tell. The workload was light, assignments were straightforward, and overall, a great introductory class, given that you do the work and reading.

Loved this class! Bergstrom was a great professor and made the lectures not boring. Attendance is not really mandatory if you want to do well on the exams, since you could honestly just study the slides and do fine, but I would recommend going because it was interesting.

Bergstrom was a great professor, everyone loved him. Just make sure you memorize the key information on the slides and you'll be completely fine for the tests. Lectures were a lot of fun and the class was relatively easy.

Pretty interesting guy, and made the test material clear. His lectures were often quite interesting and included some funny bits that kept me engaged. Honestly it was a pretty easy class and I stopped going at some point.

Dr. Bergstrom's lectures were pretty interesting! You could tell he was very enthusiastic, but he did go on tangents often.

I love Bergstrom! Compared to the other intro psych professor, his exams had higher averages (lol) and were highly reflective of the retrieval questions he provided. I liked his style of lecturing w his humor and real-life examples. Reading the textbook isn't required; just memorize the key information from slides and lectures.

Bergstrom was the best teacher I had my freshman year first semester. His lectures were great and helped explain concepts, and he made the material engaging. He is also just a very sweet guy and clearly cares about his students as well.

Class is not difficult, but you really need to put in the work and study for exams. Dr. Bergstrom is a really great and caring professor! If you study, pay attention in class, and take good notes, you'll definitely pass.

Dr. Bergstrom is an amazing professor and I really enjoy his lectures. He incorporates many engaging videos during his lectures that keep me focused, and he's a very funny lecturer. I hope to take another class with him in the future.

Super friendly and an amazing prof. Lectures were always entertaining, super lively and definitely enjoys teaching. Studying tests was very straightforward; the book has underlined terms and definitions that makes making quizlets/notecards really easy.

Loved Prof. Bergstrom. Outside of class he was incredibly kind and cared about students. Not the typical professor. Really knew the content, wasn't challenging to understand. Shared his own stories, didn't just read off slides. Great guy - HIGHLY recommend.

Dr. Bergstrom is very funny and makes content that could be boring very interesting. If you took AP Psych in highschool It's basically the exact same concepts. I didn't need to read the textbook and missed a few lectures and was perfectly fine. The 1st exam wasn't difficult and I expect the second to be the same. Definitely recommend the class!

If you're interested in Biological Psych or neuroscience this is an epic class. With regard to exams, prof bergstrom gives you practice quizzes that are incredibly helpful. His exams are super fair and as long as you spend some time studying you're gonna be fine. You get to drop one exam (you can drop the final).

Insanely detailed in lecture and really cares about the subject. If you need examples and visual aides to learn content, he is the professor to go with. Really enjoyed his class and teaching style. Would recommend.

Dr. Bergstrom is a good lecturer, he can be a bit boring at times, but fairly covers and explains all the content he expects you to know. The tests are fair, the only content on them is what he has covered in class.

Professor Bergstrom is very patient and can articulate difficult concepts clearly with real-world examples. His exams cover only what is learned in class and provide slides and practice quizzes to aid learning.

TAKE FALL SEMESTER! Fall is much easier than spring. Not as easy as it used to be but you can definitely get an A without going to class if you study a lot the nights before. It’s annoying you can only get 10 points off the entire semester between all the exams. 92.95 is still a A-, and they will not round.

For a class that could become very easily muddled, Dr. Bergstrom does an amazing job of simplifying and clarifying the course material. Truly is an extremely caring professor, so I strongly recommend taking Psych 301 with him!

I don't usually write reviews for professors, but I loved Bergstrom. He is an absolute king. For this being a tough class, he made it so much better. He is so accessible outside of class, and you can tell he really cares about his students. He is probably my favorite professor at WashU. I highly recommend him!

Bergstrom is an amazing professor and also a really nice guy! He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Very humble, and admits when things are wrong / need changes. There is a lot of textbook reading assigned in this class, but as long as you read them and pay attention in class, you'll do fine. Really enjoyed 100B!

loved Bergstrom. Made the class very manageable and took things one step at a time. Course project can seem like a lot but if you stay up with deadlines it is not bad!

Hands down best professor I've ever had at WashU. For a 2 hour class twice a week, he kept it engaging and made sure to give breaks. Prof Bergstrom is very caring, accommodating, and truly wants students to learn and succeed. For one of the hardest psych classes, he made it less of a burden which we were all so grateful for.

Sometimes I would get lost in lectures, just because he would deviate from the slides a lot. But, overall, if you are in tune, he is an awesome professor!

Was my favorite of the 3 Intro to Psych professors. Tests can be a little tough but you should do very well if you pay attention in the lecture and look at the slides. Nice sense of humor in lectures.

I love this man, and if I could, I would take the rest of my psych classes with him. Amazing professor and genuinely cares not only about his work but also his students. Can be pretty late with grading things, but more than makes up with be super understanding and flexible with you.

Lectures can be a little boring, but he truly cares about the success of his students. Powerpoints are largely based on the textbook and offers optional practice quizzes to test our learning. Lectures are funny and interesting if you pay attention.

He is just the best! He truly cares about his students in and out of the classroom and only wants to see them succeed. This class can be very content-heavy, but he moves through it well and in an engaging manner. Definitely one of my favorite professors!

Professor Bergstrom is the best professor I have had at WashU. He makes the class incredibly engaging, he gives very detailed instructions, and he is incredibly understand. Even though Experimental Psych is known to be one of the more difficult classes and work heavy classes in the Psych Department, Bergstrom made the class incredibly manageable.

I love Professor Bergstrom!! He is so engaging and considerate to his students. He loves to chat with you in or out of class and is a great resource. The few lectures we had were very entertaining and informative. It is clear he wants his study to do well and be healthy. Very awesome would highly recommend him.

Dr Bergstrom is awesome! He is a great lecturer and is funny. He gives good feedback on papers and allows you to do corrections. Regarding the research paper, he is instrumental in helping you develop your idea and offers great insight. Take experimental psych with him! Trigger warning though: this class is a lot of work.
