Dr. Rice is probably the best professor I've had. She is so kind and genuinely invested in each student's success. She's also incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at translating that knowledge so that undergraduates can understand. I HIGHLY recommend Psych246! The material was super interesting and Dr. Rice is an awesome discussion facilitator.

I never met her, all her intro psych lectures were pre-recorded. She wasn't so responsive to students' needs and concerns, and not so well organized. Her test questions were a bit vague, but I don't wanna complain too much because no homework and you don't really need to do the reading. ultimately, she was a serviceable teacher for psych 100.

Lectures would drag on and her quiz questions were unnecessarily hard. She asks you about little details that are hardly imperative to the overall topic. She was also a very slow grader, even though our quizzes were online, and many of her questions had to be re-graded.

Professor Rice is a nice but chose to teach her section online which was tough for many. Lectures were fine but she seemed distracted. However, she is very available to help you if you need it.

Prof Rice is such a sweet professor and her lectures are fun and engaging. Her quizzes are straightforward but difficult, so be prepared to read the textbook on top of watching lectures to do well in the class.

She had very fun and entertaining lectures, and she provided so many extra opportunities for us to engage with the material and understand it on a deeper, personal level.

Lectures were decent, but the way information was presented on the slides is not the greatest and a bit confusing so you will have to pay super close attention. The test wording was also terrible. Rice herself didn't seem too bad, but I never went to her office hours so I can't give a full judge of character.

Dr. Rice has been one of the most personable and real professors i've had while at WashU. Her classes aren't a walk in the park, but she's understanding and connects with students.

She seems like a very nice person who would care about her students, however if you are actually struggling in her class or if you miss an assignment or a quiz she offers no compassion or empathy. She is the type of professor to send an email saying "I know these are stressful times" when she IS the reason that these are stressful times. 0/10

I severely dislike this professor. Do not take her class. I would never take a class with this professor ever again.

Professor Rice is so much fun. I loved her unit of Psych 100B and I would absolutely take more of her classes. She is so smart and really knows her stuff but also makes the class really enjoyable. The test wasn't too hard and you don't need to read the textbook if you go to lecture.

Don't be fooled by the fact that she is a really nice person... she will fail you without hesitation. Experimental is a hard class no matter who you take it with but Rice makes you work for it. With that said, she is pretty good about explaining things if you go to office hours. A good grade isn't impossible but it won't be easy.

Lectures are fine, but exams are INCREDIBLY difficult. No matter how hard you study, many times the questions are convoluted. I did better by literally 20% on the other exams just because hers were so confusing.

Her lectures were interesting- I never struggled to focus during class. If you go to class, the test is easy.

Heather is a wonderful professor and a great person. She cares about her students & has a good sense of humor which makes class enjoyable. I was dreading experimental psych, but Heather made it a class I don't want to miss. She grades tough but fair. It's a lot of work, but if you're willing to put in the effort, it's worth it. Would recommend.

She's so sweet! Her Mindfulness Sophomore seminar was really fun to take. The class discussion she facilitated was just focused on hearing your opinion, so it was super interesting. If you're at all interested in meditation/ yoga, Rice teaches a great class with not too much work!

Sweet person and very funny in class lectures but very one dimensional teaching style. Her test questions - even on the final - compose of a lot of one liners from the textbook. So get ready to read a lot or else you might as well start digging your own grave.

She made intro to psych very enjoyable and entertaining but while the lectures were easy to understand and follow, the tests were not. When it came time for her tests, no matter how well I felt I understood the subject, the questions were not clear and when the tests were our only grade, it made her section of the class very challenging

She made me feel bad about myself when I went to her to ask for help. It feels impossible to succeed in her class no matter how hard you work because expectations are unclear, or because even if you follow all provided expectations, you still do poorly. She is not at all empathetic. Take any other section before taking hers.
