Prof McLaughlin is def a legend. He truly cares for his students. If you only want to learn accounting, there may be better professors to learn from, but if you want someone to inspire you and push you, take McLaughlin.

honestly probably a top 5 person I know; just an all-around great guy that really is just looking out for his students. He always goes the extra mile and I can't say enough good things about him. His class was always engaging and he weaves in stories and is great at telling them. He also makes sure to learn every student's name.

McLaughlin gives entertaining lectures and tries to engage the students. His exams are fair but cover a lot of material (all cumulative). Expect to work hard.

While McLaughlin is still funny in lectures, his teaching style (everything being cumulative) combined with a really difficult new form of lengthy short-answer only exams has made the class far harder than years past. His niceness is also coming off as fake and he's taking on too many responsibilities. I wish the old McLaughlin would come back...

The in-class discussions were very interesting, and I got to learn about many different industries. For someone who hadn't taken MGT100, this class gave me a great business foundation. There are a TON of cases, and you have to memorize so many facts about them for the exams--which was a pain. McLaughlin engaged the class very well and graded easily

I really love this professor! He cares so much about his students! Really wonderful lectures. 11/10 would recommend!

For the first few classes, McLaughlin seemed like an amazing professor. However, if I ever tried talking to him after class, he would be strangely dismissive. I felt like his teaching persona was just a facade. He also made the quizzes short answer, making the class much harder. He lectured well, some topics could have been explained better.

Great professor, caring and funny. Lot of things you need to know for accounting but he gives us practice problems and works out examples. Textbook not needed. Your grade is based only on quizzes - they are challenging but fair. He puts memes in his slides, tells stories, and has a YouTube Channel (Edspira). Oh and he gives us free food too :)

Easily the best professor I've ever had. Michael is extremely funny and genuinely cares about his students. His quizzes are beyond reasonable, so you can definitely do well in his class. He goes out of his way to make himself available and wants to get to know everyone outside of the classroom as well. If you get a chance to take his class, do it!!

Michael McLaughlin is one of the few professors I've had that has inspired me to do more with my life. He makes class funny and relatable, through memes, bringing us food, and giving many helpful in-class exercises. All his teaching material is posted online, and his website, Edspira, also has many helpful videos. He's an incredible person.

McLaughlin isn't just one of the best professors I've ever had, he is genuinely one of the best human beings I've ever met. Most professors are just there to teach, earn money, get titles etc. but McLaughlin sees life on a broader scale. He is a very relatable person with high dignity and integrity, and he's very inspirational. Highly recommend!

Professor McLaughlin is one of the most enthusiastic professors I have ever had. It is so clear that he cares about teaching and his students and that really makes the class enjoyable. It is amazing to what lengths he will go just to help his students and/or make sure they feel they are learning something helpful. He is also very funny.

Now that I have changed my major, I have absolutely no need to take a second accounting class, but I signed up to because he is the best professor at WashU. If you're going to take accounting, take it with McLaughlin.

Best professor anyone could ever have. He provides you with numerous networking opportunities, has easy quizzes, and knows all of his students by name. Take class with him!

Best professor I have ever had, hands down. 100% of the grade was multiple choice spread all throughout the semester, so it was extremely manageable. He also made our experience fun by using a lot of memes, ridiculous test answers, and bringing food to class. He also went out of his way to help us get internships!

Best professor I've ever had by far. I've never met someone that cares more about their students than McLaughlin. He teaches you everything you need to know, classes are fun, and the course is extremely stress-free.

He genuinely cares about each and every student. He made flash cards of every student so that he would learn everybody's name and he is always available to meet with you if you need help with anyone. I was dreading taking accounting in the early morning, but he made it worthwhile. Also he's kinda really funny.
